Switching your Invent template to use the Form Builder | FB_017

In this short tutorial, we'll see how you can switch templates you've started creating in Infigo Invent for InDesign, so they are instead using the Infigo Form Builder. This is incredibly useful if you wish to utilise artwork which has already been created as an InDesign file, rather than recreating the layout in MegaEdit. In addition, any resources you have specified in your Invent file (such as fonts or cliparts) will be brought over with the MEX import and will remain once you switch the template to utilise the Infigo Form Builder.

00:00:05:15 - 00:00:08:16
In this short tutorial,
we'll see how you can switch templates

00:00:08:16 - 00:00:11:24
you've started creating from Infigo
Invent for InDesign.

00:00:12:05 - 00:00:15:05
So instead using the Infigo form Builder,

00:00:15:23 - 00:00:18:20
this is incredibly useful
if you wish to utilize artwork

00:00:18:20 - 00:00:21:20
which has already been created
as an InDesign file,

00:00:21:28 - 00:00:24:28
rather than recreating the layout
in MegaEdit.

00:00:25:22 - 00:00:29:12
In addition, any resource
you have specified in your Invent file

00:00:29:12 - 00:00:34:04
such as fonts or clip parts
will be brought over within the MEX import

00:00:34:10 - 00:00:35:17
and will remain

00:00:35:17 - 00:00:38:29
once you've switched the template
to utilize the Infigo form builder.

00:00:40:15 - 00:00:42:11
So we're going to start by clicking on

00:00:42:11 - 00:00:47:27
adds new on the product management screen
and we'll begin by creating a new product

00:00:47:27 - 00:00:51:28
and importing a MEX file
created by Infigo Invent

00:00:52:00 - 00:00:55:18
once this product has been created,
click on MegaEdit config.

00:00:57:13 - 00:00:59:11
There's
a couple of steps we need to cover here.

00:00:59:11 - 00:01:03:10
So the first off is to scroll down
on the general tab

00:01:03:10 - 00:01:06:10
that opens up with the new MegaEdit
config for the product

00:01:06:15 - 00:01:09:15
and find the custom load step section.

00:01:10:02 - 00:01:14:26
Now when you import a MEX file, custom
load steps will automatically be input

00:01:15:02 - 00:01:18:02
to ensure
the smooth loading of your product.

00:01:18:19 - 00:01:20:29
If the Invent script is no longer
required,

00:01:20:29 - 00:01:23:29
you can remove these load steps

00:01:24:10 - 00:01:27:24
and before you move away from this tab,
make sure that you scroll to the top

00:01:28:06 - 00:01:31:06
and click on Save and continue. Edit

00:01:33:01 - 00:01:34:04
Next, we're going to go across

00:01:34:04 - 00:01:37:04
to the scripts tab.

00:01:38:03 - 00:01:40:20
We need to deactivates the InDesign script

00:01:40:20 - 00:01:43:20
and then activate the Form Builder script,

00:01:44:14 - 00:01:47:06
and remember that this name is subject
to change upon

00:01:47:06 - 00:01:49:13
official release of this functionality.

00:01:50:19 - 00:01:52:18
And then click on Save Changes.

00:01:52:18 - 00:01:55:18
From here, we can go ahead and launch
our MegaEdit product.

00:02:02:14 - 00:02:05:05
Now, from here
you'll see that the Infigo form build

00:02:05:05 - 00:02:08:05
this custom tab is now available
for you to use

00:02:08:09 - 00:02:11:25
within this product
and to begin creating your template.
