1. Example of Automatically Populated Categories
This screenshot shows an automatic categories header entry in the storefront. It shows dynamically generated category dropdowns where any category marked as "Show on home page" (shown later) will also be automatically populated within the header.
2. Featured Categories
This shows the featured categories section, where categories marked to "Show on Home Page" in the category setup page (shown later) are automatically displayed.
3. Click on Admin
Open the admin area to access backend settings for category management and customization.
4. Type "manage" in the search menu
Use the search function to locate the "Manage Categories" option quickly.
5. Click on Manage Categories
Access the manage categories section to view and edit the list of available categories.
6. Click on Edit
Select a specific category to edit its properties, including its visibility on the homepage. You can also create new categories from this page.
7. Click on Show on home page:
Enable this option to include the category in the featured categories section and the automatic header dropdown.
8. Type "ed" in the search menu
Search for "editable content" to quickly access the header customization section.
9. Click on Editable Content
Open the editable content section to modify elements of the storefront header (amongst other areas of your site).
10. Click on Edit next to the Header entry
Edit the header content to configure its layout and the elements it displays.
11. Click on Add Content
Add a new content element to the header, such as the automatic categories option.
12. Click on Header Item - Automatic Categories
Add the "Automatic Categories" header item to dynamically display featured categories.
13. Click on Save and Continue Edit
Save your changes to the header configuration to apply the updates.
14. Click on Public store
Navigate to the public-facing storefront to preview the updated header.
15. Review your new header entry
Open the dropdown in the header to confirm that it displays the correct featured categories.
