00:00:13:06 - 00:00:14:06
In this video, we're going to

00:00:14:06 - 00:00:17:05
look at setting up a static PDF product.

00:00:18:03 - 00:00:21:00
So static PDF
products are where the administrator

00:00:21:00 - 00:00:24:07
uploads a PDF to the Infigo storefront.

00:00:25:00 - 00:00:29:04
This PDF can be viewed
and ordered by a storefront user,

00:00:29:14 - 00:00:32:25
but it's not designed to be edited
in any way.

00:00:32:25 - 00:00:36:27
So however they view the PDF,
however it's uploaded, that's

00:00:36:27 - 00:00:39:27
what they can order in whatever quantity
they like.

00:00:41:07 - 00:00:45:12
So some examples of where
a static PDF product might be used.

00:00:45:27 - 00:00:52:29
So think in terms of things
like letterheads, booklets

00:00:53:00 - 00:00:56:21
or something like that, things
which might be statically branded

00:00:56:21 - 00:01:02:20
so won't need to change version
to version.

00:01:02:20 - 00:01:06:04
What we need to do
first is to create a new product,

00:01:06:24 - 00:01:09:20
so we do this the same way as we did
with stock products.

00:01:09:20 - 00:01:18:07
So catalog products
and product management.

00:01:18:07 - 00:01:20:08
So this is where the
list of our products appears.

00:01:22:15 - 00:01:22:23
There are

00:01:22:23 - 00:01:25:17
two ways to create a static PDF product.

00:01:27:12 - 00:01:30:06
One of those which will be covered
later in this tutorial

00:01:30:15 - 00:01:33:26
is to actually convert
a stock product type

00:01:34:03 - 00:01:36:16
into a static PDF product type.

00:01:37:12 - 00:01:40:16
The other, which was introduced
a bit more recently, is simply

00:01:40:16 - 00:01:43:28
the ability to directly
create a static PDF product.

00:01:44:26 - 00:01:49:06
So if I'm on my product management screen,
click on Add New.

00:01:50:12 - 00:01:54:22
You'll see now that I get a pop up window
when I'm creating a new product.

00:01:55:07 - 00:01:57:27
All I need to do here
is to enter a product name

00:01:58:09 - 00:02:01:07
and then select the type of product
that I want to create.

00:02:01:29 - 00:02:04:13
And you can see in there
that static PDF product

00:02:04:28 - 00:02:06:28
is one of those options.

00:02:07:23 - 00:02:10:14
You also have the ability
to directly upload the PDF

00:02:10:14 - 00:02:13:11
that you want to use
as part of this creation process.

00:02:13:24 - 00:02:16:23
Or you can do this later on.

00:02:17:00 - 00:02:23:00
Next, we’re going to convert a Stock product
into a Static PDF product.

00:02:24:20 - 00:02:27:23
So I'm going to go to add new.

00:02:28:00 - 00:02:31:25
Now, I could put in as much detail in here
as I like, but for the purposes

00:02:31:25 - 00:02:36:11
of our static PDF product here,
I'm going to keep this nice and basic

00:02:36:24 - 00:02:49:17
just with a name,
and then I'm going to save that product.

00:02:50:09 - 00:02:53:14
It will appear in the list
and you can see by default it's

00:02:53:15 - 00:02:58:25
a stock product.

00:02:58:25 - 00:03:03:06
So next we have to actually convert
that product to define that product

00:03:03:06 - 00:03:06:17
as a static PDF product type.

00:03:06:17 - 00:03:09:27
So this is done again
within the catalog section,

00:03:11:21 - 00:03:13:11
product types.

00:03:13:11 - 00:03:16:14
You can see all the different product
types that we have available here.

00:03:17:07 - 00:03:25:04
We're going to go to static PDF products.

00:03:25:04 - 00:03:29:07
So this page will detail
all of your products which are static PDF

00:03:29:07 - 00:03:32:07
products
within this particular storefront.

00:03:32:07 - 00:03:33:06
Obviously, at the moment

00:03:33:06 - 00:03:37:03
we don't have any entries in here,
so we're going to add a new entry

00:03:39:29 - 00:03:42:20
and all we need to do here is to select
which product

00:03:42:21 - 00:03:46:01
we want to convert
into a static PDF product

00:03:46:17 - 00:03:51:24
and then click on the create a new PDF
Product Icon, and that will take us

00:03:52:01 - 00:03:54:20
directly to the configuration options

00:03:54:28 - 00:04:04:11
for that static PDF product.

00:04:04:11 - 00:04:05:28
So there's a few options in here.

00:04:05:28 - 00:04:08:19
I'll just focus on a couple of the main
ones.

00:04:08:19 - 00:04:11:24
Primarily,
we need to actually upload the PDF

00:04:11:24 - 00:04:14:20
we want to use as our static PDF product

00:04:15:10 - 00:04:19:28
so we can click on this upload icon here.

00:04:19:28 - 00:04:22:21
Just select the relevant PDF file.

00:04:22:21 - 00:04:24:26
So I've got loaded on my machine here

00:04:27:02 - 00:04:32:11
and that becomes an uploaded file.

00:04:32:11 - 00:04:34:13
We then got this view type.

00:04:34:13 - 00:04:37:14
So there's a few different options in here
and this is just how

00:04:37:28 - 00:04:41:11
the product will be
previewed on the storefront.

00:04:42:27 - 00:04:44:23
So for example,

00:04:45:03 - 00:04:48:21
the product I've got here
is a two sided piece of A4 paper.

00:04:49:10 - 00:04:54:02
So something like the preview flipbook
might be quite useful for us.

00:04:54:02 - 00:04:57:20
It's a very aesthetically pleasing
way of viewing a document

00:04:57:20 - 00:05:06:18
such as that.

00:05:06:18 - 00:05:10:27
Okay, another option you might want to
look at in here is the preview processing.

00:05:11:16 - 00:05:16:00
So this is if you need to actually process
the document before you preview it.

00:05:16:00 - 00:05:19:13
So as if it's in the wrong rotation
orientation, for example,

00:05:19:13 - 00:05:27:28
or if you need to mirror it,
you can select that within here.

00:05:27:28 - 00:05:28:11
Okay.

00:05:28:11 - 00:05:31:13
So I'm just going to go with save
and continue. Edit

00:05:35:22 - 00:05:37:04
and then I want to actually view

00:05:37:04 - 00:05:40:04
that product on our storefront
and see how it works.

00:05:40:17 - 00:05:44:03
So I'm just going to duplicate that tab

00:05:44:27 - 00:05:48:11
and just go find that product
within my product catalog

00:05:53:24 - 00:05:55:06
and edit

00:05:55:06 - 00:06:00:04
if I wanted to get back to the PDF
Configuration settings.

00:06:00:04 - 00:06:03:03
So like I've got here,
so let's close that down.

00:06:03:13 - 00:06:06:28
I could just go straight
for this static pdf config.

00:06:07:15 - 00:06:11:14
Now it takes me back to the same options.

00:06:11:14 - 00:06:14:05
I want to view the product,
so I'm just going to hit this button here

00:06:17:13 - 00:06:20:02
and it's fairly
basic setup at the moment, of course.

00:06:20:10 - 00:06:21:21
However, the main difference

00:06:21:21 - 00:06:25:10
from the stock product
team it from a visual side of things

00:06:25:22 - 00:06:30:18
is that we've now got this preview
of a particular PDF that we've uploaded.

00:06:31:23 - 00:06:36:16
And because I chose the booklet
preview or preview flipbook,

00:06:37:23 - 00:06:40:24
it means I could actually get this quite
aesthetically pleasing way

00:06:40:25 - 00:06:51:16
of visualizing that particular document.

00:06:51:16 - 00:06:55:11
Now, of course,
we want to put a lot more detail into this

00:06:55:11 - 00:06:58:12
setup here,

00:06:58:12 - 00:07:01:09
and a lot of the ways
in which you can do this

00:07:01:18 - 00:07:05:14
are still exactly the same as we saw
for the stock products.

00:07:05:29 - 00:07:09:12
So for example, if you wanted to put
some descriptions in there, you do that

00:07:09:12 - 00:07:10:29
the same way as the stock products

00:07:13:10 - 00:07:14:19
pricing information

00:07:14:19 - 00:07:17:27
would still be through the product variant

00:07:17:27 - 00:07:21:05
stock information through the product
variant delivery information

00:07:21:05 - 00:07:22:23
through the product variant.

00:07:22:23 - 00:07:26:19
So the same way in which we've seen
in previous videos for the stock products,

00:07:27:08 - 00:07:29:25
most of those

00:07:30:06 - 00:07:32:09
means of applying settings

00:07:32:16 - 00:07:35:00
and information are exactly the same.

00:07:36:17 - 00:07:38:09
So just to

00:07:40:01 - 00:07:40:25
detail one

00:07:40:25 - 00:07:43:22
or two of those,
just to make it nice and clear for us.

00:07:44:13 - 00:07:53:06
So if I put a couple of descriptions
in here,

00:07:53:06 - 00:07:56:18
so my descriptions are completed,
their pictures

00:07:57:23 - 00:08:00:02
might not be massively relevant here.

00:08:01:02 - 00:08:05:00
So there's already a picture
applied from the PDF that's been uploaded,

00:08:05:00 - 00:08:14:03
but you can apply some more
if you wish to do so.

00:08:14:03 - 00:08:17:09
And then we also spoke
of the product variant.

00:08:17:20 - 00:08:22:00
So this is as we saw in previous video
for information like pricing,

00:08:22:21 - 00:08:25:09
pricing tiers, delivery options

00:08:25:21 - 00:08:28:16
and stock options.

00:08:28:16 - 00:08:31:16
So if I just go to product
variance and edit,

00:08:32:12 - 00:08:35:05
that will take me to
my product variants options

00:08:38:01 - 00:08:38:20
and account.

00:08:38:20 - 00:08:40:16
For example,

00:08:41:05 - 00:08:46:00
put in a price.

Uploading the Static PDF
When converting a Stock Product to a Static PDF, is the uploaded file under the Static PDF area what will be used for Production? In other words, does it need full crops, bleeds etc. to be used for the print dept?
