Customs Information with Easypost | CI_Easypost_007

Customs information is only used when you are shipping your goods internationally and the origin and destination country requires it. Here we allow for different information to be configured which will essentially be used as for the default requests when fetching rates before we understand what is in the parcels. All of the information entered below will be sent for ALL orders from that storefront when required.

00:00:12:27 - 00:00:13:07
In this

00:00:13:07 - 00:00:16:29
tutorial, we'll take a very brief
look at the Customs information

00:00:17:07 - 00:00:20:09
that you can specify
within the Easypost configuration

00:00:20:09 - 00:00:23:17
settings.

00:00:23:17 - 00:00:26:29
So there's a section specifically
for customs information.

00:00:26:29 - 00:00:29:05
It's quite close to the bottom of the page

00:00:30:01 - 00:00:33:25
with the header customs info.

00:00:33:25 - 00:00:37:16
So customs information is only used
when you are shipping your goods

00:00:37:16 - 00:00:42:19
internationally and the origin
and destination country require it.

00:00:42:19 - 00:00:44:19
Here we allow for different information

00:00:44:19 - 00:00:47:14
to be configured
which will essentially be used. As

00:00:48:22 - 00:00:52:08
for the default requests
when fetching rates before,

00:00:52:08 - 00:00:55:08
we understand what is actually within
the parcels themselves.

00:00:56:03 - 00:00:59:09
All of the information entered
in these settings here will be sent

00:00:59:09 - 00:01:05:00
for all orders from that storefront
when required.

00:01:05:00 - 00:01:06:09
So just to briefly talk through

00:01:06:09 - 00:01:09:23
some of these options and give short
explanations of what they are.

00:01:10:11 - 00:01:12:17
So we have order content type.

00:01:12:17 - 00:01:15:19
You can see there's a few different
options we have available in there.

00:01:16:01 - 00:01:19:14
This is simply a dropdown of options
supported that help define

00:01:19:14 - 00:01:24:02
what it is that you are shipping.

00:01:24:02 - 00:01:26:06
We have order content explanation.

00:01:26:06 - 00:01:29:27
So that's a field for you to provide
a more detailed explanation of the goods

00:01:29:27 - 00:01:37:01
being shipped from your storefront.

00:01:37:01 - 00:01:42:21
We have the EEL Pfc threshold,
so that is the threshold values

00:01:42:21 - 00:01:46:12
to define what Pfc code
should be sent with the order

00:01:49:12 - 00:01:51:26
we have the over field.

00:01:51:26 - 00:01:56:17
So the Pfc code that will be sent
with the order when the value of the order

00:01:56:17 - 00:02:00:08
is above the EEL Pfc threshold amount.

00:02:01:25 - 00:02:04:02
And then likewise
we've got the undervalue.

00:02:04:02 - 00:02:06:23
So this is the Pfc code
that will be sent with the order

00:02:07:00 - 00:02:15:29
when the value of the order is below
your threshold amount.

00:02:15:29 - 00:02:21:12
Moving down a little bit further,
we have send dummy customs in rate call.

00:02:21:12 - 00:02:25:08
enable this setting if you want to send
dummy customs information

00:02:25:16 - 00:02:29:03
with the rate request
when the customer is in the checkout,

00:02:29:16 - 00:02:33:12
this will allow for international services
that require customs information

00:02:33:20 - 00:02:37:09
to be returned and shown to the customer
when ordering,

00:02:37:09 - 00:02:44:29
and that includes the price
which they might expect.

00:02:44:29 - 00:02:48:03
And then we have this tariff number
for general fallback.

00:02:48:10 - 00:02:52:01
So this is the fallback
default HS tariff number that will be

00:02:52:01 - 00:02:57:07
sent with the order.
