Specification attributes are
essentially place holders of information

00:00:09:04 - 00:00:13:02
that you can present to the user to help
describe the specific of a product.

00:00:13:02 - 00:00:14:27
Unlike product

00:00:14:27 - 00:00:18:02
attributes that do not require interaction
from the customer.

00:00:18:10 - 00:00:23:15
But instead this to simply display
some information about the product.

00:00:23:17 - 00:00:25:28
So we're going to start off
by going to the specific area

00:00:25:28 - 00:00:35:26
within Infigo
to do with specification attributes.

00:00:35:29 - 00:00:38:24
Click on Add
new over on the right hand side.

00:00:38:24 - 00:00:41:25
And all we're doing at this
stage is adding the name of the product

00:00:41:25 - 00:00:46:08
attribute we wish to create.

00:00:46:10 - 00:00:47:19
Click on Save and continue.

00:00:47:19 - 00:00:53:09
Edit And now we can actually go over
to the options tab.

00:00:53:11 - 00:00:56:12
Now on this tab,
you can define multiple values.

00:00:56:12 - 00:00:58:09
This attribute can take.

00:00:58:09 - 00:01:01:09
For example,
if you have an attribute named finish,

00:01:01:09 - 00:01:05:26
your options could be matte or gloss
or whatever else you want it to be.

00:01:05:28 - 00:01:06:14
Remember,

00:01:06:14 - 00:01:09:21
specification attributes
are not selectable by the user,

00:01:09:29 - 00:01:13:00
so the administrator,
when defining one of these attributes

00:01:13:00 - 00:01:16:00
on a product, chooses
which option it takes.

00:01:16:04 - 00:01:19:28
And we'll see this a little bit later on.

00:01:20:00 - 00:01:21:06
So once we're on the options

00:01:21:06 - 00:01:25:20
tab, if I just go to add a new option,
that just comes up with a very simple

00:01:25:20 - 00:01:33:05
second screen
where we can define the options available.

00:01:33:08 - 00:01:35:20
Once we're done
adding as many options as we like,

00:01:35:20 - 00:01:41:19
just go ahead and click on Save.

00:01:41:22 - 00:01:43:25
Next, we to assign this specification

00:01:43:25 - 00:01:47:27
attribute to any product
on which we wish them to appear.

00:01:48:00 - 00:01:53:07
So we'll first
go to our product management section

00:01:53:09 - 00:01:55:06
and then we need to create or navigate

00:01:55:06 - 00:01:59:20
to a relevant product.

00:01:59:23 - 00:02:02:16
Now for on the product detail screen,

00:02:02:16 - 00:02:05:16
where we have all these tabs across
the top with additional information,

00:02:05:22 - 00:02:11:21
will notice that one of those
is related to specification attributes.

00:02:11:23 - 00:02:13:03
Multiple specification

00:02:13:03 - 00:02:16:03
attributes
can be applied to a single product.

00:02:16:03 - 00:02:19:14
The interface on this screen
allows you to define certain options

00:02:19:14 - 00:02:22:28
related to a specification attribute
and then added to the list

00:02:23:05 - 00:02:26:16
of specification attributes
for that product.

00:02:26:18 - 00:02:28:28
So all we want to do
is to select the relevant

00:02:28:28 - 00:02:32:12
attribute in this case
as we want to choose from.

00:02:32:14 - 00:02:36:23
And then if we want to select
from our predefined list of options,

00:02:36:26 - 00:02:45:05
we can do
So on the subsequent dropdown here.

00:02:45:07 - 00:02:46:04
Once I've specified

00:02:46:04 - 00:02:49:11
all the options I'm happy with,
I can go to add attributes.

00:02:49:14 - 00:02:52:03
You see that added to the list,
but we still have the option

00:02:52:03 - 00:02:55:24
to add additional entries

00:02:55:26 - 00:02:57:00
if we don't want to use

00:02:57:00 - 00:03:00:06
one of the specific options
that we have available in this dropdown

00:03:00:06 - 00:03:04:07
and that we've predefined,
you can instead say use free text

00:03:04:07 - 00:03:09:23
instead of attribute option,
and that just allows you a free text input

00:03:09:26 - 00:03:16:25
which you can use as that option.

00:03:16:27 - 00:03:17:23
In addition to this,

00:03:17:23 - 00:03:21:29
you can say whether this is going
to be shown on the product page itself.

00:03:22:01 - 00:03:26:06
So if this is DE selected,
it will just be kind of an admin only

00:03:26:08 - 00:03:27:10
specification.

00:03:27:10 - 00:03:33:14
You can actually show it to the customer.

00:03:33:16 - 00:03:38:12
And then again at the attribute

00:03:38:14 - 00:03:39:10
and then save.

00:03:39:10 - 00:03:42:19
Remember we can have as many specification
attributes on a product

00:03:42:21 - 00:03:46:08
as we wish.

00:03:46:10 - 00:03:47:16
So let's take a look at this product

00:03:47:16 - 00:03:50:16
on the front end and see how that looks.

00:03:50:19 - 00:03:54:11
So what you can see is that I've got this
product specification section here

00:03:54:11 - 00:03:57:25
which appears when we have a specification
attribute

00:03:57:25 - 00:04:00:25
set to appear on the product landing page.

00:04:00:25 - 00:04:04:14
However, underneath here
I've only got one specification attribute

00:04:04:14 - 00:04:08:19
showing even though I've got to assign
to the product itself.

00:04:08:22 - 00:04:12:28
And that's because one of them was set
to not show on the product landing page.
