00:00:05:15 - 00:00:06:17
In this tutorial, we

00:00:06:17 - 00:00:10:15
introduce barcode fields
into our MegaEdit toolkit.

00:00:10:18 - 00:00:14:04
We'll see how to enable the barcode
script, configure it if necessary,

00:00:14:09 - 00:00:19:15
and utilize barcodes
on our MegaEdit products.

00:00:19:17 - 00:00:20:10
So I'm going to start

00:00:20:10 - 00:00:23:11
by navigating
to our product management area,

00:00:23:13 - 00:00:26:19
which is where we see
our list of created products.

00:00:26:21 - 00:00:30:27
And then I'm either going to create
or select a MegaEdit product

00:00:31:03 - 00:00:34:25
and navigate to the MegaEdit settings
for that product.

00:00:34:28 - 00:00:37:27
Now, the easiest way to do this is
of course you can add the new products

00:00:37:27 - 00:00:42:19
and do it type, make an edit,
or if it's an existing product,

00:00:42:22 - 00:00:47:07
I'm just going to directly click
on the product type column, which is here.

00:00:47:10 - 00:00:55:21
That's the MegaEdit settings that

00:00:55:23 - 00:01:00:02
are now going to
go across to the scripts tab.

00:01:00:05 - 00:01:01:00
So before we can

00:01:01:00 - 00:01:04:05
actually utilize
the barcode field on our MegaEdit product,

00:01:04:05 - 00:01:07:29
we need to make sure
that the barcode fields script is enabled.

00:01:08:01 - 00:01:12:10
If you can't see the barcode fields
script in your list of available scripts,

00:01:12:16 - 00:01:17:16
then please contact customer support
who will be able to enable it for you.

00:01:17:18 - 00:01:20:18
Once you've checked that icon, click
Save changes.

00:01:20:25 - 00:01:22:28
Now remember that one were enabled here.

00:01:22:28 - 00:01:25:17
We're doing it on a product
by product basis.

00:01:25:17 - 00:01:28:18
You will need to do this
every time you want that script available

00:01:28:18 - 00:01:34:05
on a particular product.

00:01:34:07 - 00:01:35:21
Now that's enough to get us started.

00:01:35:21 - 00:01:39:06
However, we have got additional
configuration options available

00:01:39:06 - 00:01:43:24
for this particular script
along with every other script.

00:01:43:26 - 00:01:46:16
So if I want to do this
on a product by product basis,

00:01:46:16 - 00:01:49:25
so just configure the script
for this particular product

00:01:49:28 - 00:01:53:04
from this particular screen,
I can go to the config icon

00:01:53:04 - 00:01:58:11
over on the right hand
side on the barcode field row

00:01:58:13 - 00:01:59:24
That will go to this screen here.

00:01:59:24 - 00:02:01:17
So as I mentioned,
this will allow you to add

00:02:01:17 - 00:02:05:18
additional configuration to the script
for this one particular product.

00:02:05:20 - 00:02:11:01
Alternatively, you can apply config
to scripts on a global level as well.

00:02:11:03 - 00:02:14:22
And this means that your config changes
will apply to all instances

00:02:14:22 - 00:02:18:26
of that script
being used across your storefront.

00:02:18:28 - 00:02:21:15
So we could put
some additional config in here,

00:02:21:15 - 00:02:23:03
but if I look a little bit further down,

00:02:23:03 - 00:02:26:29
you'll see that we have reference
to our global script config as well,

00:02:27:01 - 00:02:30:12
which is showing us that there's
some information already in here.

00:02:30:14 - 00:02:33:09
Now if we don't have anything in there,
we want to make changes.

00:02:33:09 - 00:02:36:18
We can make changes to the global config
by clicking on this icon.

00:02:36:26 - 00:02:43:12
Yeah.

00:02:43:15 - 00:02:45:11
But in terms of the barcode script,

00:02:45:11 - 00:02:48:20
this is the additional configuration
we may want to do.

00:02:48:22 - 00:02:52:10
Now. This config will enable several
additional lesser

00:02:52:10 - 00:02:57:10
used types of barcode to be utilized
along with the standard barcode types.

00:02:57:13 - 00:03:00:18
and these extended barcodes
include a few different types

00:03:00:18 - 00:03:03:27
of GS1 barcode.

00:03:04:00 - 00:03:04:11
Okay.

00:03:04:11 - 00:03:08:25
So once we're happy with that, I'm
going to click Save

00:03:08:27 - 00:03:10:26
that will make sure that our configuration

00:03:10:26 - 00:03:13:19
or additional config on
the script is saved.

00:03:13:19 - 00:03:16:22
And then make sure that we actually
save changes on this screen as well.

00:03:16:22 - 00:03:20:07
So we want to make sure that we save
the changes, that we want to utilize

00:03:20:07 - 00:03:23:17
the barcode field script.

00:03:23:20 - 00:03:24:01
Okay.

00:03:24:01 - 00:03:36:18
So now we can navigate to our product on
the front end and load it up in mega. Edit

00:03:36:20 - 00:03:37:01
with the

00:03:37:01 - 00:03:40:07
barcode script and
see if you will see a new field available

00:03:40:07 - 00:03:43:07
when you click on the Fields
tab over on the left hand side.

00:03:43:10 - 00:03:47:06
And this gives you the option to add
a barcode field to the canvas.

00:03:47:09 - 00:03:54:12
Just click on that or drag
and drop it onto the canvas.

00:03:54:15 - 00:03:57:18
Now if we want to configure this,
just double click on the actual field.

00:03:57:18 - 00:04:01:21
This will open up this configuration
pop up that you probably recognize

00:04:01:22 - 00:04:05:28
from other field types within MegaEdit.

00:04:06:00 - 00:04:08:20
Now the configuration tab within here.

00:04:08:20 - 00:04:09:28
This one here

00:04:09:28 - 00:04:13:27
is where you can actually control
the specification of the barcode itself.

00:04:14:00 - 00:04:17:15
And this includes options
such as barcode type

00:04:17:17 - 00:04:20:29
and the actual content of that barcode.

00:04:21:01 - 00:04:23:05
So let's take a look
at some of the options in here

00:04:23:05 - 00:04:26:17
and talk through what exactly they do.

00:04:26:20 - 00:04:28:03
They'll start off with type.

00:04:28:03 - 00:04:31:17
So you see, if I drop that down,
we've got a long list of potential

00:04:31:17 - 00:04:36:27
barcode types available.

00:04:36:29 - 00:04:38:07
We've got value.

00:04:38:07 - 00:04:41:19
So the data you add here is
what is created via

00:04:41:19 - 00:04:48:21
the barcode.

00:04:48:23 - 00:04:50:04
We have encoding mode.

00:04:50:04 - 00:04:53:11
Now this only displays
when the data matrix option

00:04:53:11 - 00:04:56:11
for type is selected.

00:04:56:14 - 00:04:58:28
You'll see, for example,
if I switch that QR code,

00:04:58:28 - 00:05:03:06
that option is no longer available.

00:05:03:09 - 00:05:07:08
We have auto scale, so this scales
the barcode to fit the barcode field.

00:05:07:10 - 00:05:14:20
If I didn't turn that off,
it goes to a standard size.

00:05:14:22 - 00:05:17:07
We have show human readable,

00:05:17:07 - 00:05:22:03
so this simply displays
the value input below the barcode itself.

00:05:22:06 - 00:05:22:20
So we can see.

00:05:22:20 - 00:05:26:18
For example, here I've got our value
displayed under the barcode

00:05:26:23 - 00:05:29:15
and then the barcode itself
will be that value.

00:05:29:15 - 00:05:39:19
If I change this,
we'll see both of those changing.

00:05:39:21 - 00:05:41:28
We have margin human readable.

00:05:41:28 - 00:05:46:06
So this is a pixel value that adds space
and padding between the base

00:05:46:06 - 00:05:55:13
of the barcode and the human readable
value displayed below it.

00:05:55:15 - 00:05:56:15
You have font size.

00:05:56:15 - 00:06:01:03
It's very straightforward.

00:06:01:06 - 00:06:03:06
And then we have barcode colour.

00:06:03:06 - 00:06:06:12
You click on this icon
to activate the color picker

00:06:06:14 - 00:06:09:14
to enable
the MegaEdit colour pop up details.

00:06:09:17 - 00:06:12:13
We can now assign
a different color to the barcode

00:06:12:13 - 00:06:22:00
and then it will be displayed
in that different color scheme.

00:06:22:03 - 00:06:23:11
Now, if you wish to inject

00:06:23:11 - 00:06:28:02
any other data from within Infigo,
go into a barcode on output creation

00:06:28:02 - 00:06:32:03
or during editing or something like that,
then this is possible,

00:06:32:03 - 00:06:35:09
but it would need to be an additional mega
script written

00:06:35:09 - 00:06:47:06
and applied to your storefront,
which is a chargeable development request.

00:06:47:09 - 00:06:49:06
Okay, so if I activate this popup again,

00:06:49:06 - 00:06:52:06
you'll see we have a second tab,
which is the details tab.

00:06:52:12 - 00:06:56:15
So the details tab allows you to control
the behavior of the field itself.

00:06:56:17 - 00:07:01:11
This contains options that you've probably
seen in other field types and is options

00:07:01:11 - 00:07:05:19
such as controlling how the end user
can interact with that particular field.
