00:00:05:15 - 00:00:08:15
In this tutorial
we'll discuss the usage rules feature.

00:00:08:18 - 00:00:12:00
This little use feature allows you
to define scenarios in which access

00:00:12:00 - 00:00:16:00
to a particular payment methods
or delivery methods may be restricted.

00:00:16:20 - 00:00:19:06
For example,
if you would like to only grant guest

00:00:19:06 - 00:00:22:26
uses the ability to utilize payment
methods such as PayPal.

00:00:23:08 - 00:00:26:08
Restrict access to the payment methods.

00:00:27:26 - 00:00:29:12
To demonstrate this, we're going to go

00:00:29:12 - 00:00:32:12
to our delivery computation area.

00:00:33:18 - 00:00:36:18
So whilst we're going to demonstrate
this on delivery computation,

00:00:36:23 - 00:00:40:02
it can be utilized
in different areas of Infigo.

00:00:40:18 - 00:00:44:12
So for example, for payment methods,
delivery methods like we have here.

00:00:44:20 - 00:00:47:20
And for delivery options.

00:00:54:02 - 00:00:55:02
So I'm going to click on

00:00:55:02 - 00:00:58:04
usage rules
next to my chosen delivery method.

00:00:58:05 - 00:01:01:27
So in my case, it's going to be fixed
rate shipping and go to usage rules.

00:01:06:07 - 00:01:07:21
Towards the bottom of this page,

00:01:07:21 - 00:01:11:15
you'll see a section allowing you
to define usage rule requirements.

00:01:11:29 - 00:01:16:08
In addition, there's an info box
providing some additional context

00:01:16:08 - 00:01:19:08
on these capabilities.

00:01:20:25 - 00:01:24:02
If I click down on this box, you can see
the options that we have available.

00:01:24:06 - 00:01:28:02
The dropdown allows you to choose
requirements types for your rule,

00:01:28:02 - 00:01:32:13
and this can be done against customer
rolls, categories, product variants,

00:01:32:22 - 00:01:38:09
product groups, departments
and select Connect plugins as well.

00:01:39:10 - 00:01:43:01
Use these options to create rules
where the scenario has to match

00:01:43:06 - 00:01:46:11
before a particular payment
or delivery method will be shown.

00:01:47:05 - 00:01:51:01
For example, will next create a rule
where in order to utilize this delivery

00:01:51:01 - 00:01:54:27
method, the user placing
the order must have a guest

00:01:54:27 - 00:01:57:27
customer role.

00:02:01:21 - 00:02:04:27
So I'm going to go to usage requirements
by customer roles.

00:02:05:13 - 00:02:09:01
Selecting one of those will reveal
a couple of additional options,

00:02:09:01 - 00:02:11:14
allowing you to configure
that particular rule.

00:02:15:11 - 00:02:17:03
We have restricts usage.

00:02:17:03 - 00:02:19:16
Consider this a general on off switch.

00:02:19:16 - 00:02:22:17
If this is checked,
usage is restricted to those matching

00:02:22:17 - 00:02:25:17
the specified rules.

00:02:28:10 - 00:02:31:10
Then underneath here
we have the customer roles.

00:02:31:17 - 00:02:36:02
So in our example, we're looking to type
the name of a defined customer role.

00:02:36:23 - 00:02:40:04
Required input will differ based
on the rule that you're trying to make.

00:02:40:14 - 00:02:43:17
For example, creating a rule
against a category will require

00:02:43:17 - 00:02:46:17
input of the category ID.

00:02:46:20 - 00:02:50:27
You can check the tooltip
next to the field when creating your rule

00:02:50:27 - 00:02:53:27
to see the format of
input that they expect.

00:02:55:18 - 00:02:58:13
So in our case,
I'm just going to type guests

00:02:58:13 - 00:03:01:07
as we want that customer role
to be covered

00:03:01:07 - 00:03:04:07
by this particular rule.

00:03:04:21 - 00:03:07:21
Then if we click on Add New,

00:03:07:25 - 00:03:10:06
this will confirm the addition
of the rule.

00:03:10:06 - 00:03:13:04
Multiple rules can be defined
for a single payment method,

00:03:13:04 - 00:03:16:13
delivery method
or delivery option if they are required

00:03:17:13 - 00:03:17:28
Infigo

00:03:17:28 - 00:03:21:26
provides the ability to choose
whether all of these rules need to be met

00:03:21:26 - 00:03:24:26
in order for the method to be used
or just one of them.

00:03:25:00 - 00:03:28:00
And these are found within your order
settings.

00:03:33:13 - 00:03:36:01
If we scroll right down to usage

00:03:36:01 - 00:03:39:01
requirements right down at the bottom.

00:03:40:27 - 00:03:43:06
So this is split into three areas

00:03:43:06 - 00:03:46:24
covering delivery options,
delivery methods, and payment methods.

00:03:47:03 - 00:03:50:01
These are global controls
which govern all rules

00:03:50:01 - 00:03:53:01
specified in each of these three areas.

00:03:53:22 - 00:03:56:22
If these settings are not checked
so that false,

00:03:56:23 - 00:04:00:18
then all rules are required
to match a scenario before it can be used.

00:04:01:06 - 00:04:04:13
If these settings are checked
so true, then

00:04:04:13 - 00:04:07:13
only one usage rule needs to match.

00:04:08:15 - 00:04:12:23
Once you've chosen the configuration
you require, make sure you save the page.

1. Navigate to Delivery Computation

We will use the Delivery Computation area to demonstrate this functionality, however it can be utilised in different areas of Infigo.

For restricting payment methods, navigate to Payment Methods, locate your payment method and click Usage rules.

For restricting delivery methods, navigate to Delivery Computation (or Shipping Computation), locate your delivery method and click Usage rules.

For restricting delivery options (such as a 1-day shipping within your FedEx delivery method), navigate to Delivery Computation, click Usage Rules next to the relevant delivery method. Then go to the Delivery Options tab, where you can define individual usage rules per option.

4. Select Usage requirement by Customer Roles

The dropdown allows you to choose a requirement type for your rule. This can be done against:

  • Customer Roles

  • Categories

  • Product Variants (essentially specific products)

  • Product Groups

  • Departments

  • Select Connect plugins

Use these options to create rules where the scenario has to MATCH before a particular payment or delivery method will be shown.

For example, we'll next create a rule where in order to utilise this delivery method, the user placing an order must have the Guest customer role.

5. Check Restricts usage

Consider this a general on/off switch. If this is checked, usage is restricted to those matching the specified rules.

6. Type "Guests"

In our example, we're looking to type the name of defined Customer Roles.

The required input will differ based on the rule you're trying to make. For example, creating a rule against a Category will require the input of the Category ID.

Check the tool tips (?) next to the fields when creating your rules to see the format of input they expect.

Type "Guests"

7. Click on Add new

This will confirm the addition of the rule.

Multiple rules can be defined for a single payment method, delivery method or delivery option (if required).

Infigo provides the ability to choose whether ALL of these rules need to be met in order for the method to be used, or just one of them. This is found within your Order Settings.

Click on Add new

8. Click on Order Settings

10. Select single or all rule match requirements

Split into three areas covering delivery options, delivery methods and payment methods. These are global controls which govern all rules specified in each of these three areas.

If these settings are not checked (False) then all rules are required to match a scenario before it can be used. If these settings are checked (True) then only one usage rule needs to match.

Click Save to confirm these options.
