00:00:05:15 - 00:00:07:01
In this tutorial, we'll take a look at

00:00:07:01 - 00:00:11:01
how to update barcodes
using MegaEdit Batch capabilities.

00:00:11:10 - 00:00:15:23
Additional information on MegaEdits, batch
mode and barcode capabilities

00:00:15:23 - 00:00:19:28
can individual be found on the Infigo
Academy links for those topics

00:00:19:28 - 00:00:22:28
can be found in the associated step
by step guide below.

00:00:25:07 - 00:00:27:15
Now let me just show you
what we're intending to create here.

00:00:27:15 - 00:00:30:06
So I just have
a very simple label product.

00:00:30:06 - 00:00:34:15
And I've got a barcode
which I want to be populated based on

00:00:36:02 - 00:00:39:13
a range of products, let's say,
which have different price reductions.

00:00:39:27 - 00:00:42:21
So what we're going to actually set
this up to do is give us the ability

00:00:42:21 - 00:00:45:21
to upload a CSV.

00:00:48:05 - 00:00:51:04
Which then links the different fields
on the product itself.

00:00:51:04 - 00:00:54:04
So when when we go ahead and preview
and then ultimately purchase

00:00:54:04 - 00:00:57:15
these products watch,
we see that as well as information

00:00:57:15 - 00:01:00:18
in the actual
or text based information changing.

00:01:00:25 - 00:01:03:24
We also see the barcode
information changing as well.

00:01:10:18 - 00:01:11:12
So to do this we'll

00:01:11:12 - 00:01:14:12
start off on our product.

00:01:14:15 - 00:01:19:03
And I'm just going to go to the MegaEdit
settings of that particular product.

00:01:19:28 - 00:01:23:17
We're going to begin
by making sure that both the batch

00:01:23:22 - 00:01:27:12
and the barcode
capabilities of MegaEdit are enabled.

00:01:29:00 - 00:01:31:26
So on the general tab,
if I scroll down to the bottom here,

00:01:31:26 - 00:01:35:20
I do want to make sure
that I've got the CSV plugin enabled,

00:01:35:20 - 00:01:38:20
which is on the batch source setting.

00:01:42:00 - 00:01:44:20
We also want to check server side preview.

00:01:44:20 - 00:01:48:14
This is required in order to preview
the populated barcode entries.

00:01:50:18 - 00:01:54:03
Make sure that before you move away
from this page, you hit save and continue.

00:01:54:03 - 00:01:57:03
Edit.

00:01:57:23 - 00:02:00:23
When that's done,
we want to go over to the scripts tab.

00:02:01:01 - 00:02:02:10
Two things to activate here.

00:02:02:10 - 00:02:05:00
One is the barcode field script,

00:02:05:00 - 00:02:08:00
which will give you access
to adding barcodes to your products.

00:02:08:06 - 00:02:09:13
And then we have the standard

00:02:09:13 - 00:02:13:21
batch scripts, which works hand in hand
with that selection we made a moment ago.

00:02:15:05 - 00:02:15:11
Now if

00:02:15:11 - 00:02:18:11
you can't see either of those scripts,
please do get in touch

00:02:18:11 - 00:02:21:22
with our customer support team
who will be able to enable them for you.

00:02:21:22 - 00:02:23:16
Now, if I go back to our product here

00:02:23:16 - 00:02:26:07
and we'll just see
actually how these are configured.

00:02:26:07 - 00:02:30:04
So you would add the barcode itself
in the usual way that you would on

00:02:30:04 - 00:02:34:01
a MegaEdit product, the same as whether
adding an image or a text field.

00:02:34:09 - 00:02:38:09
If your product is configured to do so,
you'll have a fields tab over on the left

00:02:38:09 - 00:02:42:09
hand side where you can add the relevant
field type, which includes a barcode.

00:02:44:21 - 00:02:46:14
If you double click on the barcode
that you add,

00:02:46:14 - 00:02:49:22
you have the ability to select
the barcode type that you require.

00:02:50:12 - 00:02:53:11
This will need to be relevant
to the type of information

00:02:53:11 - 00:02:55:16
that you want to
populate it with. Of course.

00:03:00:27 - 00:03:03:27
If we then go over to the details section.

00:03:07:07 - 00:03:08:04
Scroll down a little bit

00:03:08:04 - 00:03:12:04
and find the name field, and then
put in a name for this barcode field.

00:03:12:23 - 00:03:15:05
This name is
what will eventually be mapped

00:03:15:05 - 00:03:18:05
to a column in loaded CSV data.

00:03:18:21 - 00:03:22:12
Whilst not strictly necessary,
making the name of the field

00:03:22:24 - 00:03:26:11
and the CSV column identical
will allow the system

00:03:26:11 - 00:03:29:13
to auto map the two,
which will simplify the process.

00:03:32:11 - 00:03:33:03
So let's take a quick

00:03:33:03 - 00:03:36:03
look at our sample CSV.

00:03:38:13 - 00:03:40:01
So this is the sample information

00:03:40:01 - 00:03:43:01
we're going to be uploading.

00:03:43:05 - 00:03:46:11
In our sample CSV
we can see two data columns.

00:03:46:11 - 00:03:49:11
One's named product
and one is named price.

00:03:49:19 - 00:03:54:13
And we wish to populate our barcodes with
the contents of each of the product rows.

00:03:59:13 - 00:04:01:27
So going back to my product,

00:04:01:27 - 00:04:05:26
that is why I would put product in my case
as the name of this barcode field,

00:04:05:27 - 00:04:10:03
because that maps this barcode field
to that particular column.

00:04:11:10 - 00:04:13:07
On a side note, the price column

00:04:13:07 - 00:04:16:09
I've put in as a variable in a text field.

00:04:16:09 - 00:04:16:20
Okay.

00:04:16:20 - 00:04:19:24
So with that in place
we can now go to go ahead and say

00:04:19:24 - 00:04:22:24
upload CSV.

00:04:25:25 - 00:04:28:25
Now mapping should occur automatically

00:04:28:29 - 00:04:31:29
with the user asked to confirm
the configuration that's required.

00:04:32:15 - 00:04:36:01
In our example
we can see a product mapping

00:04:37:26 - 00:04:41:05
which is taking the name for the barcode
and matched it to one of the columns.

00:04:41:05 - 00:04:42:17
In our CSV.

00:04:42:17 - 00:04:45:02
We also have our price mapping,

00:04:45:02 - 00:04:48:02
which is looking for the price
variable in our text field.

00:04:49:19 - 00:04:52:11
Should the mapping be incorrect
for whatever reason,

00:04:52:11 - 00:04:55:06
while the barcode and column names
might not be identical,

00:04:55:06 - 00:04:58:15
you can manually change
the mapping of these data sets.

00:04:59:14 - 00:05:00:00
You can also

00:05:00:00 - 00:05:03:16
make it so each of those is a static field
with a static body of text.

00:05:03:26 - 00:05:06:26
If you wish to do so.

00:05:07:16 - 00:05:08:19
Click on okay.

00:05:08:19 - 00:05:11:19
That'll go ahead and upload that CSV.

00:05:12:06 - 00:05:15:06
Then if we go to preview.

00:05:18:14 - 00:05:21:18
What you'll find is that
these populated barcodes can now be seen.

00:05:21:18 - 00:05:24:12
So if I switch
between the first few records,

00:05:24:12 - 00:05:27:04
we'll see that
the price in the text field is updating.

00:05:27:04 - 00:05:30:17
And also the content of the barcode
field is changing as well.
