Infigo Invent | Key updated features
Export spot colours with Infigo Invent
This new feature gives the ability to define and export Spot colours from within your Invent package. These can be applied in numerous ways, as discussed in the Academy tutorial resource below.
Adjusting exported layers within image frames
In earlier versions of Invent, the export of an image field into MegaEdit resulted in two fields within the end MegaEdit product.
We have introduced a new option within Invent to rectify this, allowing the two exported parts of an image field (parent frame and image) to be reduced to only export the image.
This option is named "Export layers as single frames". In time, this will become the default available option.
With this option enabled, only one field will be created in the resulting MegaEdit product.

Increased variable limit
We have increased both the maximum number of variables and the number of logic statements from 50 to 250.

Image link validation
We have added a new validation that checks to see if an image resource that has been copy and pasted from a webpage on the internet is properly linked.
An auto-fix feature has been added which will automatically download the image and create a corresponding link, so it can be downloaded correctly.

Improved Google crawling
We have made sweeping improvements to our compatibility with Google search crawling. Products located on your storefront, along with many of their details, now have better visibility on Google search when your store is crawled.
The focus of these improvements centres around:
Global MegaEdit script configurations
MegaEdit script configurations can now be applied globally (on a storefront level), rather than simply on a product-by-product basis.
For situations where products have unique script configurations, the product level specification is still available. However, this update allows our users to globally apply changes to all products using a script with a single action, hugely streamlining the process.
TaxJar country support
Our TaxJar plugin has been extended. We now support all countries available via the TaxJar API, including; the US, Canada, Australia, the EU and the UK.
Whilst previously only available to our US customers, this enhancement means TaxJar can be utilised by a much larger set of Infigo users.
Want to learn more about TaxJar and how it can integrate with Infigo? See the Infigo Academy resource below.
Global enable / disable product types
We have added the ability to globally turn on or turn off particular product types.
This allows you to simplify the amount of options available in the storefront if only certain types are utilised. It also provides the ability for administrators themselves to enable access to product types, rather than having to defer to Infigo Support.
Feature of the month
This time, our feature of the month is Content Templates.
Introduced into the Infigo software several months ago, the Content Template functionality eliminates the need for any HTML knowledge, by replacing the standard Code Mirror Editor with a series of simple inputs and controls to create site layouts that works for you.

Infigo Academy webinars
July saw us host the first of our monthly Infigo Academy webinars, with each session dedicated to a different area or feature within the Infigo software.
Our topic for July was An Introduction to Infigo Invent for InDesign. In this 1-hour event, we armed attendees with the knowledge they need to understand this ground-breaking plugin, and to begin making variable templates of their very own.
The webinar was very well attended by a range of our customers from all over the world, and we were delighted to see the "Chat" section of the webinar lighting up with attendees answering each other's questions and helping each other out, helping to further build the Infigo user community!
Did you miss July's webinar? Not to worry. You can get on-demand access on the Infigo Academy.
Our August webinar is all about Content Templates, which you can learn more about in our Feature of the month section. Want to get involved? You can sign up in seconds here!

The best of the rest!
July saw a host of minor changes to both the front and back end of your Infigo storefronts. Let's explore them below.
Open admin pages in new tabs
Many buttons within Infigo admin now open a separate tab when clicked, rather than opening in the current tab. This aims to facilitate simpler management of complex tasks.
An icon denotes wherever this function is now in effect.

Default storefront favicon
The default storefront favicon for newly created storefronts has been changed from the Infigo logo to a more generic globe.
This is in response to favicons taking time to be updated on search engines, meaning the Infigo logo may be visible for a longer period of time than desired.

Workflow settings move
Workflow related settings have been consolidated, moving some from the Infigo Settings page to the Approval Workflow Settings page.

Category editor adjustments
Category editor now contains links to products contained within it, plus a checkbox has been added to easily specify products as featured.
