How To Customise Helper Text On Multipart Versioned Product UI

Version Help Text lets you add concise, language-specific guidance for shoppers when they choose a product which allows the specification of different product versions in a MultiPart product. Find out more about versioned products, here.

Once versioning is enabled, a localized editor appears on Product Variant and Product Group pages so you can write a tooltip that contains whatever relevant information you require. Two small interface tweaks—Name and Quantity labels—now sit above the custom name field and quantity selector on the version-selection screen, making the flow clearer on desktop and mobile.

2. Key Settings

Setting Where you’ll find it What it does Notes
Enable Versioning Variant & Group editor → Versioning section Activates multipart-version mode for the item. Must be on before any help text appears.
Version Help Text Directly under Enable Versioning Stores the text shown in the version-selection tooltip. Supports Rich Text, CodeMirror, and Content-Template editors. Behaves like the “Full Description” field:
• Language-specific tabs
• Falls back to the Standard tab when a translation is missing
• Tooltip is hidden if both are empty
Name label Version-selection screen (storefront) Adds a clear heading above the version name input (if you allow custom names). Translatable string. Language string:
vue.web.versioning.name.label
Quantity label Version-selection screen (storefront) Adds a heading above the quantity selector. Translatable string. Language string:
vue.web.versioning.quentity.label

3. Useful Information

  1. Explain complex version choices
Provide tips and guiadance so shoppers know exactly which part they’re configuring.

  2. Multi-language storefronts
Enter separate help text for each supported language; the tooltip automatically switches to match the shopper’s locale.

  3. Product Groups with shared instructions
Enable versioning at the group level to push identical help text to every multipart product in the group—perfect for bundles that share the same version logic.

4. Step-by-Step Implementation Guide

A. Product Variant
  1. Create or open a multipart product variant (Product Management > Edit [Product Variant] > Info [Tab]).

  2. In the Versioning section, toggle Enable VersioningOn.

  3. A new block titled Version Help Text appears.

    • Choose your preferred editor (Rich Text, CodeMirror, or Content-Template).

    • Enter the guidance you want shoppers to see.

    • Switch tabs to add translations for other languages.

  4. Save the variant.

  5. Preview the storefront: open the product, expand the version-selection box, and confirm the tooltip displays your help text.

    • If a translation is missing, the system shows the Standard version.

    • If both are empty, the tooltip is hidden.

B. Product Group
  1. Create or open a product group that contains multipart products.

  2. In the Versioning section, toggle Enable Versioning.

  3. Fill in Version Help Text just as you did for a variant.

  4. Save the group.

  5. Visit any multipart item inside the group on the storefront—each version-selection tooltip now shows the group-level help text.

C. Check the new labels
  1. Browse to any multipart product (individual or in a group).

  2. In the version-selection panel, confirm that Name appears above the custom name input and Quantity appears above the quantity selector.

  3. Switch storefront language to ensure both labels translate correctly.

  4. This text can be changed within the language settings of Infigo using vue.web.versioning.name.label and vue.web.versioning.quentity.label. Learn more about changing language strings here.
