00:00:12:20 - 00:00:13:00
In this
00:00:13:00 - 00:00:17:06
tutorial we'll look at pre
defining and utilizing spot colours within.
00:00:17:06 - 00:00:19:15
our MegaEdit products
00:00:19:15 - 00:00:24:06
so these can be used in various locations
within the MegaEdit editor where colours
00:00:24:06 - 00:00:27:09
can be specified things such as font text,
00:00:27:09 - 00:00:30:15
border colours, drop shadows
00:00:30:15 - 00:00:35:00
and other such entries.
00:00:35:00 - 00:00:40:02
The first thing we're going to do
to specify a spot color category.
00:00:40:16 - 00:00:44:03
This is the same kind of functionality
that we've seen for the placeholders,
00:00:44:03 - 00:00:46:29
for the clip arts, for the masks.
00:00:47:09 - 00:00:51:26
We specify a category separately
and then we define that category
00:00:51:26 - 00:00:57:27
on a particular product
or multiple products if we wish to do so.
00:00:57:27 - 00:01:00:25
So I'm going to start off on my MegaEdit
products screen
00:01:01:07 - 00:01:04:28
and then I'm going to navigate
from this resource links list
00:01:05:12 - 00:01:10:11
to general data.
00:01:10:11 - 00:01:14:21
The last entry in these tabs is our spot
colour categories, and you can see that
00:01:14:21 - 00:01:23:12
I have one entry in there as an example,
I'm just going to click Add new record
00:01:24:10 - 00:01:34:28
and then just type in some details.
00:01:34:28 - 00:01:39:05
We also have the ability to show this spot
called Category Only for administrators.
00:01:39:21 - 00:01:41:21
This is primarily used if
00:01:43:02 - 00:01:44:04
the administrators are
00:01:44:04 - 00:01:47:18
the ones just building the templates
and needing access to those colours.
00:01:47:27 - 00:01:50:01
But you don't want to give access
to those colours
00:01:50:21 - 00:01:53:07
to the actual users themselves.
00:01:53:07 - 00:01:58:14
We'll leave that on false for now
so everybody can access it.
00:01:58:14 - 00:02:01:28
Once you've created that, click on
configure to actually define
00:02:01:28 - 00:02:06:06
your spot colours.
00:02:06:06 - 00:02:09:18
So from here we simply click on the add
spot colour button
00:02:10:06 - 00:02:13:15
that allows us to specify a single color,
but you can specify
00:02:13:15 - 00:02:16:08
as many colors as you like
within the spot color category.
00:02:16:29 - 00:02:26:15
We can put a name,
we can choose an RGB value,
00:02:26:25 - 00:02:30:07
or we can specify the color
directly with a hex value.
00:02:31:15 - 00:02:34:22
So if I click on the RGB value, you'll see
there that I get a color picker.
00:02:35:07 - 00:02:38:00
I can also enter the RGB values directly.
00:02:38:25 - 00:02:40:18
I can switch this to HSL
00:02:42:05 - 00:02:50:11
to hex.
00:02:50:11 - 00:02:53:18
So if I enter my RGB value
00:02:53:18 - 00:03:00:25
in here, enter, you'll see the
hex value is automatically populated.
00:03:01:09 - 00:03:02:29
a color is shown.
00:03:02:29 - 00:03:05:19
I can click okay to confirm it
00:03:05:19 - 00:03:08:01
and I'm going to repeat that process
a few more times
00:03:08:01 - 00:03:13:13
just to add a few more spot colors
to this category.
00:03:13:13 - 00:03:16:07
So we'll stick with these four colours
as part of our example.
00:03:16:24 - 00:03:20:09
Now, before we can actually utilize these
on our MegaEdit product,
00:03:20:18 - 00:03:24:08
we need to make sure that this spot
color category is assigned
00:03:24:08 - 00:03:25:25
to that MegaEdit product.
00:03:27:13 - 00:03:28:17
So if I go back
00:03:28:17 - 00:03:31:05
and I'm going to navigate
back to my product section,
00:03:32:16 - 00:03:36:11
I can see my MegaEdit products.
00:03:36:11 - 00:03:38:14
I'm then going to edit
the specific product.
00:03:38:14 - 00:03:40:23
I want to utilize the spot colours on
00:03:43:08 - 00:03:46:00
one of my taps across the top,
which you've seen multiple times.
00:03:46:00 - 00:03:47:01
At this point.
00:03:47:02 - 00:03:51:16
I'm going to click on Spot Colors.
00:03:51:16 - 00:03:54:03
You'll see that we have access
to our spot colour categories.
00:03:55:04 - 00:03:57:23
I can specify one or multiple
00:03:57:23 - 00:03:59:17
and then hit, save
00:04:00:10 - 00:04:02:14
and from here I'm going to go and load up
00:04:02:14 - 00:04:06:27
the MegaEdit editor
with this particular product.
00:04:06:27 - 00:04:10:19
So let's see a couple of examples
where we can utilize these spot colours.
00:04:11:04 - 00:04:14:10
So for example, if I wanted to change
the color of some of this text,
00:04:15:14 - 00:04:17:25
I could highlight the text
I want to change the color of
00:04:18:15 - 00:04:21:14
and where we have this color picker icon
00:04:22:15 - 00:04:26:12
on the options that appear in the pop up.
00:04:26:12 - 00:04:31:13
You see primarily we get a color pick up
where we can choose between RGB and CMYK
00:04:32:03 - 00:04:34:27
but we also have this spot colour category
now as well
00:04:36:01 - 00:04:38:28
I click those it shows me
00:04:38:28 - 00:04:42:04
those exact colors that we've specified
in the spot color category
00:04:43:06 - 00:04:45:05
and I can select them and hits.
00:04:45:05 - 00:04:47:03
OK
00:04:47:03 - 00:04:50:10
I can do the same type of thing for border
settings.
00:04:50:10 - 00:04:54:04
So again,
where there's another example of an RGB
00:04:54:04 - 00:04:56:06
value or a color pickup,
00:04:57:06 - 00:05:00:07
if I specify that I want to have a border
by default,
00:05:00:07 - 00:05:04:15
it's showing black
by clicking on the color picker itself.
00:05:04:15 - 00:05:05:07
You'll see that again.
00:05:05:07 - 00:05:12:15
I have access to the spot colours.
