CERM vs Infigo - Terminology explained | CI_CERM_002

CERM and Infigo have different terminology for some overlapping areas of their software. Here, we will learn about those differences as context for future tutorials.

00:00:06:06 - 00:00:08:19
In this
really quick video, I just want to clarify

00:00:08:19 - 00:00:12:07
some of the terminology differences
between Infigo and CERM.

00:00:12:23 - 00:00:15:07
Now, some of them are quite similar
in some way,

00:00:15:07 - 00:00:19:16
so I think it's important that we do this
particular exercise.

00:00:19:22 - 00:00:23:02
Also, when I refer to any of these
in future tutorials

00:00:23:02 - 00:00:26:12
related to the CERM integration,
I will try my best to say

00:00:26:12 - 00:00:30:19
either Infigo or CERM prior
to the particular terminology,

00:00:30:27 - 00:00:33:12
just so we can have absolute clarity
as to what they mean.

00:00:34:24 - 00:00:38:26
so the first entry is a group set of users
registered within our system.

00:00:39:06 - 00:00:41:15
Now Infigo we call these departments

00:00:42:07 - 00:00:44:13
in CERM will call these customers.

00:00:46:05 - 00:00:48:18
Next we have an individual user

00:00:48:18 - 00:00:51:18
which is sitting
within one of these groups.

00:00:51:18 - 00:00:55:08
So again, Infigo, will you be familiar
with calling these customers?

00:00:55:17 - 00:01:00:09
And then
CERM these are actually called contacts.

00:01:01:00 - 00:01:03:25
Now we move on to the actual work
that we're going to be performing.

00:01:04:02 - 00:01:07:19
So first of all, we have the specification
of a piece of work

00:01:07:29 - 00:01:11:05
and this is with variable artwork.

00:01:11:15 - 00:01:11:24
So what?

00:01:11:24 - 00:01:15:09
We've got a fixed specification,
but we can actually change the artwork.

00:01:15:09 - 00:01:20:08
That being it's being assigned
as part of that particular piece of work.

00:01:20:29 - 00:01:24:12
Now within CERM, we call this an estimate
and we'll be referring to this

00:01:24:12 - 00:01:28:00
quite a lot over the course
of this series, as estimates are

00:01:28:13 - 00:01:31:04
the core function of CERM

00:01:31:04 - 00:01:34:28
The nearest equivalent
we have Infigo for that is a quote.

00:01:36:05 - 00:01:36:14
And then

00:01:36:14 - 00:01:39:07
finally we
have the specification of a piece of work.

00:01:39:14 - 00:01:41:10
But this time with fixed artwork.

00:01:41:10 - 00:01:44:06
So a fixed job, we call that.

00:01:44:06 - 00:01:45:05
in Infigo

00:01:45:05 - 00:01:46:28
one, it's
gone through the ordering process

00:01:46:28 - 00:01:49:26
and we've now got it as a job
ready to be printed.

00:01:51:05 - 00:01:54:19
So yes, Infigo that's called job
and then within.

00:01:54:19 - 00:01:58:24
CERM we would actually call that a product.

00:02:00:10 - 00:02:00:19
Okay.

00:02:00:19 - 00:02:01:25
So as I mentioned, I'll try

00:02:01:25 - 00:02:05:20
and include whether or not it's Infigo
or CERM terminology

00:02:06:00 - 00:02:09:23
when I'm actually going
through these terms in the main tutorials.

00:02:09:29 - 00:02:14:12
But hopefully that helps
with a bit of context on the matter.
