Product Tags | GT_PR_010

In this tutorial, we will learn about product tags, and their use as an alternative method of grouping similar products. A "Product Tag" on your Infigo storefront is a label or keyword that is associated with a product to help shoppers find and sort products more easily. It allows you to categorize products based on specific characteristics, such as color, size, style, brand, or material. For example, your pens, notebooks and staplers may all be assigned a "Stationary" tag. Customers will then be able to see or search for this tag in various locations, giving direct access to all "Stationary" products. Product tags can be displayed on product pages, search results pages, and category pages. They are clickable, allowing users to filter products by a specific tag. Tags sit separately from Infigo Categories. A product can be within one or multiple categories (such as "Pens") and can still have one or more tags (such as "Stationary" or "Writing equipment").

00:00:13:14 - 00:00:13:24
In this

00:00:13:24 - 00:00:16:24
tutorial, we'll learn about product tags
and their use

00:00:16:24 - 00:00:19:20
as an alternative
method of grouping similar products.

00:00:20:24 - 00:00:25:04
So a product tag on your Infigo
storefront is a label or a keyword is

00:00:25:06 - 00:00:29:12
associated with a product to help shoppers
find and sort products more easily.

00:00:30:00 - 00:00:33:17
It allows you to categorize products
based on specific characteristics

00:00:33:23 - 00:00:38:14
such as color, size, style,
brand material, whatever it may be.

00:00:39:18 - 00:00:43:13
So for example,
if you have pens, notebooks and staplers,

00:00:43:22 - 00:00:46:20
they may all be assigned
to a stationery tag.

00:00:47:17 - 00:00:50:14
Customers will then be able to see
or search for this tag in

00:00:50:14 - 00:00:57:01
various locations, giving direct access
to all stationery products.

00:00:57:01 - 00:01:00:07
Product tags can be displayed on product
landing pages,

00:01:00:13 - 00:01:04:02
search results, pages
and on category pages.

00:01:04:13 - 00:01:09:17
They are clickable, allowing users to
filter through products by a specific tag

00:01:11:05 - 00:01:11:21
to keep in

00:01:11:21 - 00:01:15:07
mind that tags do set separately
from Infigo categories.

00:01:15:14 - 00:01:20:23
So a product can be within one or multiple
categories, such as pens, for example,

00:01:21:08 - 00:01:24:11
and can still have one
or more associated tags

00:01:24:17 - 00:01:28:28
such as stationery or writing equipment.

00:01:31:16 - 00:01:34:28
So we're going to begin
by applying a tag to one of our products.

00:01:35:06 - 00:01:40:07
And I'm going to do this by navigating
to one of my product details.

00:01:40:24 - 00:01:43:24
So I've just gone to my catalog

00:01:43:24 - 00:01:45:27
product management, and then edited

00:01:45:27 - 00:01:48:13
one of my products.

00:01:51:23 - 00:01:52:07
The product

00:01:52:07 - 00:01:55:07
tags import is located
right at the bottom of this page

00:01:55:15 - 00:02:00:26
underneath the product settings area,

00:02:00:26 - 00:02:03:07
and you can find the product tags input.

00:02:04:11 - 00:02:09:03
Clicking this box will launch the product
tag editor and there's two different

00:02:09:03 - 00:02:13:07
types of tag inputs
that are available in here.

00:02:13:21 - 00:02:17:20
So existing product
tags are visible in this list here

00:02:18:03 - 00:02:23:22
and can be added to a product
by selecting the checkbox.

00:02:23:22 - 00:02:26:29
New tags can be created
if they don't already exist in the

00:02:27:00 - 00:02:30:07
in your Infigo storefront
by simply typing the tag

00:02:30:07 - 00:02:33:13
name into the text box that appears there.

00:02:33:29 - 00:02:37:10
You can add multiple entries
at once in here and to add multiple,

00:02:37:10 - 00:02:39:29
do ensure that your tags
are comma separated.

00:02:40:12 - 00:02:43:01
So for example, we might have new tags.

00:02:43:05 - 00:02:46:24
One comma means we're starting
a separate tag.

00:02:47:16 - 00:02:49:12
New tag to

00:02:51:27 - 00:02:53:05
and you can see now that this

00:02:53:05 - 00:02:57:22
is going to have three different tags
associated with it.

00:03:00:12 - 00:03:02:17
Make sure you save that particular product

00:03:02:17 - 00:03:05:07
before you proceed.

00:03:11:03 - 00:03:12:12
And then we're going to go ahead

00:03:12:12 - 00:03:15:00
and review our product tags, screen.

00:03:15:25 - 00:03:18:03
So if I just go to the search list
and type product

00:03:18:03 - 00:03:25:11
tags, this very simply gives us a list
of all of the product tags

00:03:25:11 - 00:03:29:10
that we currently have defined
on this storefront with a handy

00:03:29:10 - 00:03:32:11
tip of how many products are associated

00:03:32:11 - 00:03:40:28
with that tag.

00:03:41:10 - 00:03:43:15
Next, we'll take a look at the product
landing page,

00:03:43:18 - 00:03:46:02
the product that we just edited.

00:03:46:12 - 00:03:50:11
So if I click view product page, that
will take me directly to the landing page.

00:03:51:13 - 00:03:51:22
And what you

00:03:51:22 - 00:03:54:18
can see there
is that we have a range of product tags

00:03:54:26 - 00:03:57:26
now visible on the landing page.

00:03:57:26 - 00:04:00:08
Tags on your product
landing page are clickable.

00:04:00:17 - 00:04:04:24
So with Infigo, subsequently displaying
all of the available products that share

00:04:04:24 - 00:04:14:10
that same tag,

00:04:14:10 - 00:04:17:28
tags can also be targeted
within the storefront search engine.

00:04:18:09 - 00:04:22:01
So if you click on your search bar
or you go to forward search search

00:04:22:01 - 00:04:31:19
in your address bar,
and in here I'll directly

00:04:31:19 - 00:04:34:17
to search for one of those product tags
that I just created,

00:04:36:06 - 00:04:38:21
and it will show me
the associated products.

00:04:44:12 - 00:04:45:11
Next, we'll modify

00:04:45:11 - 00:04:48:11
some of the settings
related to our product tags.

00:04:48:27 - 00:04:51:24
Now, first,
we'll see how to hide the product tags

00:04:51:24 - 00:04:54:00
from our product landing page.

00:04:54:00 - 00:04:55:29
So if I go back to my

00:04:58:25 - 00:05:00:29
product details

00:05:00:29 - 00:05:04:03
and go ahead and navigate
to our Display Settings tab

00:05:04:29 - 00:05:08:27
quite close to the bottom of this page,
you have a hide product tags option.

00:05:09:11 - 00:05:12:11
Now this has to be activated
on a product by product basis.

00:05:13:19 - 00:05:15:24
But if I save that and then refresh

00:05:15:25 - 00:05:27:01
my landing page,

00:05:27:01 - 00:05:31:09
you'll see that the product tags
are no longer visible.

00:05:35:05 - 00:05:38:20
So even though they're no longer visible,
they are, however, still active.

00:05:38:20 - 00:05:42:07
So if you did search for that product tag
in your storefront search,

00:05:42:15 - 00:05:52:08
that product would still be displayed.

Product Tags

GT_PR_010
