Creating a new storefront in your Infigo platform | BG_001c

Here, we will learn how to create a new storefront within your Infigo platform. A note on terminology. Platform: Consider the platform to be the top level of your Infigo system, governing your entire Infigo environment. Storefront: Individual sites created and sitting within your platform. For example, you may have one storefront dedicated to a larger customer. This would be branded to them and contain only their products. Alternatively, a different storefront may be home to a larger number of your smaller customers, where they access their products on a generically branded site. Your Infigo package will likely have been supplied with a fixed number of storefronts. For example, you may be on a 15 storefront package. Please note, we do grant you one additional storefront. This is present for training, educational and demo purposes. In this tutorial, we will demonstrate the process of creating these new storefronts.

00:00:07:07 - 00:00:08:12
So here we'll learn how to

00:00:08:12 - 00:00:11:21
create a new storefront
on your Infigo platform.

00:00:12:22 - 00:00:14:22
So a note on terminology.

00:00:14:22 - 00:00:17:28
When we're talking about platform,
I consider the platform

00:00:17:28 - 00:00:23:07
to be the top level of your Infigo system
covering your entire Infigo environment.

00:00:24:14 - 00:00:27:21
When we're talking about a storefront,
these are individual

00:00:27:21 - 00:00:30:28
sites
created and sitting within your platforms.

00:00:31:11 - 00:00:35:22
For example, you may have one storefront
dedicated to a larger customer.

00:00:36:16 - 00:00:39:21
This will be branded to them and contain
only their products.

00:00:40:15 - 00:00:44:13
Alternatively, a different storefront
may be home to a larger number

00:00:44:13 - 00:00:48:02
of your smaller customers,
where they access their products

00:00:48:02 - 00:00:51:02
on a generically branded site

00:00:51:11 - 00:00:53:10
where you figure package will likely have

00:00:53:10 - 00:00:56:10
a supplied number of storefronts.

00:00:56:16 - 00:00:59:14
For example,
you may be on a 15 storefront package.

00:01:00:25 - 00:01:01:25
We know that we do

00:01:01:25 - 00:01:04:22
grant one additional storefront
by default.

00:01:05:00 - 00:01:08:15
This is present for training, educational
and demo purposes.

00:01:09:11 - 00:01:12:13
In this tutorial
will demonstrate the process of creating

00:01:12:19 - 00:01:14:26
these new storefronts

00:01:16:06 - 00:01:17:00
to start off with,

00:01:17:00 - 00:01:19:10
if we go to the configuration section

00:01:20:15 - 00:01:24:10
and navigate down
to storefront management.

00:01:27:04 - 00:01:28:16
Click on the plus icon

00:01:28:16 - 00:01:31:06
and that will reveal this new table here.

00:01:32:03 - 00:01:34:15
Now, the resulting table
that you see will show

00:01:34:15 - 00:01:37:23
all of the storefronts
currently present within your platform.

00:01:38:05 - 00:01:41:24
So if you're on a brand new storefronts
and you're a brand new customer, chances

00:01:41:24 - 00:01:44:21
are you only have one entry
or maybe two entries in that

00:01:46:15 - 00:01:49:21
there isn't an entry in here
for the platform level itself.

00:01:49:22 - 00:01:52:26
So you can see that here
on my particular one

00:01:53:22 - 00:01:57:14
generally, you will not have to access
the platform level very often.

00:01:57:23 - 00:02:02:04
With most things being controlled
on a storefront level, when you do have

00:02:02:04 - 00:02:04:27
to access the platform level, the tutorial resources

00:02:05:08 - 00:02:08:16
will notify you of that.

00:02:11:12 - 00:02:12:21
But to create a new storefront,

00:02:12:21 - 00:02:16:10
click on Add New Storefront.

00:02:19:29 - 00:02:23:10
So at this point, a form will appear
which is prompting you to input

00:02:23:10 - 00:02:26:12
some fundamental storefront data prior

00:02:26:12 - 00:02:28:23
to initialization of that storefront.

00:02:29:23 - 00:02:33:00
So to begin, fill in the store details
section.

00:02:33:11 - 00:02:36:00
This comprises of a name.

00:02:36:00 - 00:02:41:16
So this is a storefront name
that you wish to appear on your system.

00:02:45:20 - 00:02:47:08
You have an alias,

00:02:47:08 - 00:02:51:14
so this is the URL
you wish to be appended to your platform.

00:02:51:14 - 00:02:54:10
URL in order
to access this particular storefront.

00:02:55:10 - 00:02:58:27
So for example,
if I put an alias of demo store

00:02:59:24 - 00:03:02:12
1708 23 here,

00:03:03:04 - 00:03:06:19
what that will mean is that to access
this particular storefront,

00:03:07:00 - 00:03:11:07
I would go to my platform URL,
which in this case is web to print

00:03:11:07 - 00:03:16:06
demo dot com and then it will
be forward slash demo store

00:03:17:18 - 00:03:19:20
17 oh 23

00:03:19:20 - 00:03:22:05
So that would allow me to access
that particular storefront

00:03:22:14 - 00:03:27:13
on my platform.

00:03:27:13 - 00:03:31:05
We have storefront type that can be either
B2B or B2C.

00:03:31:21 - 00:03:34:10
Some settings will be configured
during the initialization

00:03:34:10 - 00:03:37:15
process to facilitate easier
setup of each of these.

00:03:37:24 - 00:03:44:17
So this is a good thing to select
during the configuration process.

00:03:44:17 - 00:03:45:25
And then we have a description.

00:03:45:25 - 00:03:48:26
This is an admin
only import providing additional

00:03:48:26 - 00:03:51:08
storefront information

00:03:55:02 - 00:03:56:08
coming down a little bit further,

00:03:56:08 - 00:03:59:23
we have the ability to select
key colors on our storefront.

00:04:00:03 - 00:04:03:29
So primarily
background, primary and secondary

00:04:04:07 - 00:04:08:03
and an initial text cover.

00:04:08:03 - 00:04:11:20
So we'll start off
just by setting a primary color here.

00:04:12:28 - 00:04:15:09
So primary and secondary color is context.

00:04:15:15 - 00:04:20:01
These will be used in various locations
on your storefront and are often available

00:04:20:01 - 00:04:23:20
as a quick reference when you're
generating content for your site.

00:04:24:00 - 00:04:24:25
So this ensures

00:04:24:25 - 00:04:28:13
that you're always on brand
and you don't have to import the Hex code

00:04:28:23 - 00:04:31:08
or the RGB value
every time you want to use it

00:04:32:21 - 00:04:34:29
to actually specify a color in here.

00:04:34:29 - 00:04:37:07
So you click on the primary color.

00:04:37:07 - 00:04:41:21
You can use the actual color picker
to navigate through and find the code

00:04:41:21 - 00:04:42:16
you want.

00:04:42:18 - 00:04:46:28
Alternatively, you can input the relevant
data at the bottom of the screen here.

00:04:46:28 - 00:04:51:19
If you don't want to input RGB as it is
by default, click on these little arrows

00:04:51:19 - 00:04:57:06
and it will change
the format of the input.

00:04:57:06 - 00:05:01:04
At this point, you can upload a logo
that will be utilized on your storefront

00:05:01:04 - 00:05:02:10
and select the fonts

00:05:02:10 - 00:05:07:12
that you want to utilize by default.

00:05:07:12 - 00:05:10:05
Once you've completed
all of those options, click on okay

00:05:10:17 - 00:05:13:08
and your storefront initialization
will begin.

00:05:14:03 - 00:05:18:07
Now this initialization process
will usually take around 60 seconds.

00:05:19:03 - 00:05:21:24
If you want to take a look at the stage
at which

00:05:21:24 - 00:05:26:01
that initialization process is, it will be
put at the end of this particular list.

00:05:27:04 - 00:05:27:23
If I just go to

00:05:27:23 - 00:05:31:04
the end, you can see there
I have initialization pending

00:05:31:15 - 00:05:35:14
and this will update
as the initialization takes place.

00:05:35:14 - 00:05:38:11
If you want to refresh this list
to see how this process is going,

00:05:39:14 - 00:05:44:25
click on the refresh button here.

00:05:48:06 - 00:05:50:05
So our storefront is now initialized

00:05:50:05 - 00:05:52:29
and you can see that it's
put it into test status.

00:05:52:29 - 00:05:55:07
First of all, it does this by default.

00:05:55:18 - 00:05:58:20
Being in test status
just means that you can add customers

00:05:58:27 - 00:06:01:19
and place orders nice and freely.

00:06:01:24 - 00:06:03:08
And then when you're ready to turn, it's

00:06:03:08 - 00:06:06:12
to a live status
which will be covered in a later tutorial.

00:06:06:12 - 00:06:08:08
When we're ready to get to that stage,

00:06:08:08 - 00:06:12:14
it means that you can very easily
clear out all of that customer

00:06:12:18 - 00:06:17:07
and all of that order data
if you don't need it.

00:06:18:09 - 00:06:20:24
So what
we need to do now is to actually change

00:06:20:24 - 00:06:25:02
so that anything else that we start adding
in subsequent tutorials,

00:06:25:08 - 00:06:28:15
we're adding
to that particular storefront.

00:06:28:15 - 00:06:29:23
So this is very easy to do.

00:06:29:23 - 00:06:33:19
We just go to the switch storefront button
at the top of the screen.

00:06:34:05 - 00:06:37:01
Now, bear in mind,
you will only see this if you're logged in

00:06:37:01 - 00:06:39:22
as your platform administrator account,

00:06:40:16 - 00:06:42:21
because then you can control
various storefronts.

00:06:44:01 - 00:06:46:15
Click on Switch Storefront

00:06:49:01 - 00:06:51:22
that will show you a list
of all of your available storefronts.

00:06:52:02 - 00:06:56:08
You just need to navigate to the one
which you want to modify

00:06:56:21 - 00:07:05:25
and then click select.

00:07:10:22 - 00:07:11:15
Once selected,

00:07:11:15 - 00:07:15:12
you can verify
the correct storefront is now active at

00:07:15:12 - 00:07:20:18
the top of the screen.

Step by Step Guide

BG_001c
