00:00:07:13 - 00:00:09:17
Infigo supports the use of Enfocus

00:00:09:17 - 00:00:13:10
pitstop profiles to be used against custom
media upload items.

00:00:14:10 - 00:00:17:10
These profiles work across
several product types,

00:00:17:14 - 00:00:21:06
including multipart
uploads of Mega Edit products, either

00:00:21:06 - 00:00:25:01
using the editor
or the separate upload UI.

00:00:27:05 - 00:00:28:03
These profiles are there

00:00:28:03 - 00:00:31:11
to help alert
the end user to any potential issues that

00:00:31:11 - 00:00:35:26
their uploaded images may have before
they are processed and sent to production.

00:00:36:14 - 00:00:40:12
These can help to ensure customers
are submitting good print quality images,

00:00:40:19 - 00:00:44:08
so job turnarounds and workflows
can progress much more smoothly.

00:00:45:05 - 00:00:48:05
Now, please do note that
this is a paid module.

00:00:48:11 - 00:00:51:21
If you do need additional information
on this, please contact either

00:00:51:21 - 00:00:54:27
Customer Support
or your Customer Success Manager.

00:00:58:21 - 00:01:00:05
Okay, so to start actually

00:01:00:05 - 00:01:03:07
implementing these we first need
to navigate to the relevant page,

00:01:03:11 - 00:01:08:21
which we can do by typing PDF
and go to PDF Profile Setup.

00:01:09:08 - 00:01:13:03
If you can't access this page
and you do have the module, then please do

00:01:13:03 - 00:01:16:06
contact Customer support and they will
be able to enable it for you.

00:01:17:19 - 00:01:18:19
You can see in my case that

00:01:18:19 - 00:01:21:19
I've got a few example files already here.

00:01:22:26 - 00:01:24:21
A new PDF profile can be added

00:01:24:21 - 00:01:27:21
by clicking Add New Record
at the top right hand corner.

00:01:28:07 - 00:01:31:07
Let's make a new one called Sample

00:01:31:24 - 00:01:35:03
and there's a few options available
with this which we're going to go through.

00:01:35:11 - 00:01:38:11
So I'm going to save these
reporting options here for later on.

00:01:38:20 - 00:01:41:16
I'm just going to insert
my newly created profile

00:01:41:16 - 00:01:44:16
and then go to Edit Profile Data.

00:01:46:02 - 00:01:47:19
These top two sections here

00:01:47:19 - 00:01:50:23
will look at the actual Enfocus
pitstop profiles.

00:01:50:23 - 00:01:53:23
So this is where you would upload it.

00:01:57:00 - 00:01:59:01
And then the uploaded file
is displayed here

00:01:59:01 - 00:02:02:01
where you can either
delete or redownload it.

00:02:02:25 - 00:02:05:08
Now the profile file itself

00:02:05:08 - 00:02:09:11
is generated with the Pitstop Acrobat
plugin, and allows the configuration

00:02:09:11 - 00:02:12:27
of tests on the current PDF file
that the user is uploading.

00:02:13:24 - 00:02:16:29
These tests have a wide potential scope
from page

00:02:16:29 - 00:02:21:10
counts or dimensions to color space
or font information.

00:02:21:10 - 00:02:21:28
For example,

00:02:23:06 - 00:02:24:02
each test can be

00:02:24:02 - 00:02:27:02
configured to act
as either a warning or an error.

00:02:27:13 - 00:02:31:00
Warnings will inform the user
but not prevent the file from being used,

00:02:31:04 - 00:02:34:04
whilst
errors will completely prevent file usage

00:02:34:22 - 00:02:37:19
until those issues are resolved.

00:02:37:19 - 00:02:40:10
In addition
to a user manually resolving issues

00:02:40:10 - 00:02:44:15
and then re uploading the file,
automatic fixes can be implemented

00:02:44:15 - 00:02:47:24
in pitstop,
which will address warnings or errors.

00:02:48:22 - 00:02:51:16
An example
would be changing the size of the page

00:02:51:16 - 00:02:54:12
or converting the color space Enfocus.

00:02:54:12 - 00:02:57:15
Do have manuals available
covering these capabilities,

00:02:57:22 - 00:03:00:22
and we've put a link to those in the step
by step guide.

00:03:03:06 - 00:03:07:08
Now there are a couple of types
of PDF profile that we can use,

00:03:07:08 - 00:03:10:08
and we'll see examples of these
a little bit later on.

00:03:10:18 - 00:03:13:18
So we're going to start off
with a check PDF profile.

00:03:13:24 - 00:03:16:25
So this type of profile is used
if you want to run various

00:03:16:25 - 00:03:20:19
forms of verification
against an uploaded PDF file.

00:03:21:26 - 00:03:24:01
We have fixed PDF profiles.

00:03:24:01 - 00:03:27:18
So as the name suggests
this profile will provide fixes

00:03:27:18 - 00:03:30:18
to the files
that are loaded by the end users.

00:03:31:19 - 00:03:34:27
And then please do note that whilst check
and fix profiles

00:03:34:27 - 00:03:38:18
can be used independently,
they can also be used together.

00:03:38:29 - 00:03:43:14
So undertaking the check functionality,
then providing the user with the choice

00:03:43:14 - 00:03:46:14
as to whether to implement
any automatic fixes

00:03:46:14 - 00:03:49:14
on problems that arise.

00:03:50:05 - 00:03:51:29
Our last type of PDF profile

00:03:51:29 - 00:03:56:07
is output PDF profiles,
so this profile is optional.

00:03:56:18 - 00:04:01:14
When set, we will apply the profile
after the output file has been generated.

00:04:02:11 - 00:04:05:22
The purpose of this profile
is to make changes to the PDF

00:04:05:23 - 00:04:09:23
after output generation,
which is applied to the entire document,

00:04:09:23 - 00:04:13:23
not just the PDF files
that the user is uploading at the time.

00:04:14:22 - 00:04:17:21
It should
also be used when time consuming tasks

00:04:17:21 - 00:04:20:25
like colour conversion
aren't required to be shown

00:04:21:00 - 00:04:24:00
to the user.

00:04:24:29 - 00:04:26:09
The next options down

00:04:26:09 - 00:04:29:09
also do with PDF reporting templates.

00:04:29:19 - 00:04:32:19
When creating a PDF report,

00:04:33:00 - 00:04:36:07
which we can present to the user
once they run one of their profiles.

00:04:38:25 - 00:04:41:16
The user will be able to download
that PDF report,

00:04:41:16 - 00:04:44:28
which contains the findings
of that profile that's been run.

00:04:45:17 - 00:04:48:16
This includes
the warnings, errors and fixes,

00:04:48:16 - 00:04:51:16
but also additional details
about the file itself

00:04:53:04 - 00:04:55:17
when no report template is configured.

00:04:55:17 - 00:04:58:02
We will create a standard report
which is Infigo

00:04:58:02 - 00:05:01:04
branded by uploading a report
template file.

00:05:01:13 - 00:05:04:13
The report can be adjusted
in a number of different ways.

00:05:13:02 - 00:05:13:13
Scrolling

00:05:13:13 - 00:05:18:00
a bit further down, we have a section
for variable sets and variable XML.

00:05:18:24 - 00:05:20:29
So this is a bit more involved.

00:05:20:29 - 00:05:25:03
So additional content will be available
on Infigo Academy covering this topic.

00:05:25:27 - 00:05:28:06
This feature enables dynamic PDF

00:05:28:06 - 00:05:31:06
preflight checks with customizable inputs

00:05:31:22 - 00:05:36:28
by utilizing variable sets in Pitstop Pro
that are mapped to your product

00:05:36:28 - 00:05:42:16
attributes,
in Infigo via a job ticket XML.

00:05:42:26 - 00:05:47:11
You can tailor preflight profiles
to meet specific job requirements.

00:05:48:04 - 00:05:51:15
This setup allows you to adjust parameters
like page dimensions

00:05:51:23 - 00:05:54:26
based on user inputs or product
specifications.

00:05:55:10 - 00:05:58:11
This enhances
automation and streamlining your PDF

00:05:58:11 - 00:06:02:10
preflight process
for increased efficiency and flexibility.

00:06:05:18 - 00:06:08:02
Okay, and the last couple of options
I want to discuss here

00:06:08:02 - 00:06:11:16
before we go through some examples,
is those reporting options

00:06:11:16 - 00:06:14:16
which were available on the main profile
list.

00:06:14:26 - 00:06:17:07
If I go back to list,

00:06:17:07 - 00:06:18:28
find my relevant profile

00:06:18:28 - 00:06:21:28
and then click on Edit Commands.

00:06:23:07 - 00:06:25:18
Now first off
looking at the reporting column, you see

00:06:25:18 - 00:06:28:18
we have a couple of different options
here.

00:06:28:18 - 00:06:30:14
So first off we have no.

00:06:30:14 - 00:06:33:18
So that will obviously create
no corresponding reports.

00:06:34:22 - 00:06:37:14
The next option down is PDF.

00:06:37:14 - 00:06:42:16
So when set we will generate a PDF report
and then present this to the user

00:06:42:16 - 00:06:45:16
so they can download and review
the results.

00:06:45:19 - 00:06:49:22
The report generated will either be
the standard report template or it can be

00:06:49:22 - 00:06:54:00
customized via the report template
settings that I showed you earlier on.

00:06:55:19 - 00:06:57:22
The user will see a report

00:06:57:22 - 00:07:00:25
for a successful upload, a failed upload,

00:07:01:06 - 00:07:04:06
or when we fixed a previously failed
upload.

00:07:06:08 - 00:07:09:12
The next option down here is PDF and XML.

00:07:10:07 - 00:07:13:21
So this creates both the PDF report
that we've just talked about,

00:07:14:01 - 00:07:17:01
plus an additional XML report.

00:07:17:10 - 00:07:20:17
So when this is set
an XML summary will be passed

00:07:20:17 - 00:07:24:06
to go
containing or warnings, errors and fixes.

00:07:24:20 - 00:07:28:15
This summary is displayed
to the user in the same locations

00:07:28:15 - 00:07:32:03
as the PDF report will be downloaded from.

00:07:32:22 - 00:07:35:08
So actually within the Infigo workflow

00:07:35:08 - 00:07:38:08
itself.

00:07:42:29 - 00:07:46:22
Then the last option we have here
is alter input file.

00:07:47:03 - 00:07:50:20
So when this is set
we will replace the upload file

00:07:50:20 - 00:07:54:17
that the user has provided
with the PDF profile output.

00:07:54:24 - 00:07:58:04
Once profiling is finished
so that is required

00:07:58:04 - 00:08:01:12
in case the profile
does anything other than simple tests.

00:08:01:19 - 00:08:05:11
So if we start implementing fixes,
this needs to be turned on

00:08:05:11 - 00:08:08:24
because we are going to
be utilizing that fixed file.

00:08:13:25 - 00:08:16:23
For performance
reasons this should really be disabled.

00:08:16:23 - 00:08:17:29
If it's not needed.

Incomplete
Step by Step Guide

Infigo supports the use of Enfocus Pitstop Profiles (.PPP) to be used against customer media upload items.  These profile work across several product types currently - Multipart Upload, MegaEdit (Editor and Upload UI).  Please see helpdesk for links on creating those products individually.

The profiles are there to help alert the end user to any potential issues that their images may have before they are processed and sent to production.  This can help to ensure customers are submitting good print quality images so job turnarounds and workflows can progress smoothly online.

Please note: THIS IS A PAID FOR MODULE - please raise a ticket if you would like info on pricing for this feature.

1) Configuring PDF Profiles within Infigo

Infigo allows the configuration of a range of PDF profiles. The configuration can be found under:

Configuration > Resources > PDF Profile Setup

If you cannot access this page, please contact our Customer Support team who can enable it for you.

A new PDF profile can be added by clicking the “Add new record” button.

Once created click on edit under Edit profile data. These settings should be enabled with care, as they are important for a correct workflow.

1.1) Enfocus Pitstop profile

The profile file is generated with the Pitstop Acrobat plugin and allows the configuration of tests on the current PDF file. Those tests have a wide scope, from page count or dimensions to colour space and font information.

Each test can be configured to act as a warning or error. Warnings will inform the user but not prevent the file from being used, whilst errors will completely prevent file usage until the issues are resolved.

In addition to a user manually resolving issues, automatic fixes can be implemented in Pitstop which will address warnings or errors. An example would be changing the size of the pages or converting the colour space.

Enfocus have manuals available covering these capabilities, which can be accessed here:

https://www.enfocus.com/en/support/manuals/pitstop-pro-manuals

Different types of PDF profile:

Check PDF profile

This type of profile is used if you want to run various forms of verification against an uploaded file.

Fix PDF profile

As the name suggests, this profile will provide fixes to the file uploaded by the user.

Note that whilst Check and Fix profiles can be used independently, they can also by used together, undertaking the check functionality then providing the user with the choice as to whether to implement the automatic fixes.

Output PDF profile

This profile is optional. When set, we will apply the profile after the output has been generated.

The purpose of this profile to make changes to the PDF after output generation - which is applied to the entire document, not just PDF files the user uploads.

It should be also used when time consuming tasks like colour conversion aren’t required to be shown to the user.

1.2) Report Template

When creating a PDF report, the user will be able to download a PDF report which contains the findings of the profile. This includes the warnings, errors and fixes, but also additional details about the file.

When no report template is configured, we will create a standard report - which is Infigo branded. By uploading a report template file, the report can be adjusted in many ways. From the general look and feel (report vs annotated style) to the information the report provides as well as the styling and branding - all can be controlled by generating a custom report template.

For more information see: http://www.enfocus.com/manuals/Extra/CustomReportTemplate/17/home.html

1.3) Variable Sets and Variable XML

Additional content will be available in the Infigo Academy covering this topic.

This feature enables dynamic PDF preflight checks with customizable inputs. By utilizing variable sets in PitStop Pro that are mapped to your product attributes in Infigo via a Job Ticket XML file, you can tailor preflight profiles to meet specific job requirements. This setup allows you to adjust parameters like page dimensions based on user input or product specifications, enhancing automation and streamlining your PDF preflight process for increased efficiency and flexibility.

1.4) Reporting Options & Additional Commands

Unlike previously discussed settings, these options are configured on the main PDF Profile list page, and are modified for each profile using the “Edit” button. Their purpose is to control the usage of those profile configurations within Infigo.

1.4.1) “Pdf” (Create PDF Report)

When set, we will generate a PDF report and present to the user for download. The report generated will be either the standard report template or can be customized via the report template setting.

The user will see a report for a successful upload, a failed upload (when the report rejected it, so it contains errors and "Create XML Report" is enabled,) or when we fixed a previously failed upload.

1.4.2) “Pdf And XML” (Create PDF and XML Reports)

Creates both the PDF report detailed above, plus an additional XML report.

When set, an XML summary will be passed to Infigo containing all warnings, errors and fixes. This summary is displayed to the user in the same locations as a PDF report can be downloaded.

When errors are detected, the upload will fail and would not be used. Note that this setting has to be true to have profile rejects available, as otherwise the system would not know there are errors in the PDF.

1.4.3) "Alter Input File"

When set, we will replace the upload with the PDF profile output once profiling has finished. That is required in case the profile does anything other than simple tests, as otherwise all changes would be lost.

For performance reasons, this switch should be disabled when not needed.
