EasyPost: Accurate Customs Information for International Shipments

Title

How to Enable Accurate Customs Information for EasyPost International Shipments

Summary

A new Use accurate customs info setting in the EasyPost plugin corrects the customs data sent for international shipments, grouping items by HS tariff number and calculating correct weights, values, and currency. Enabling the setting also unblocks international AutoBuy.

Environment

EasyPost plugin settings: Admin > Configuration > Connect Plugins > EasyPost > Configure. Applies to storefronts using EasyPost for international shipments.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Easypost configuration settings.
  2. In the Customs section, enable Use accurate customs info and save.
    1. image-20260622-131720.png
  3. Place an international order to confirm customs items appear grouped by HS tariff number, with correct weights in ounces, values, and the storefront currency in the EasyPost shipment. Verify that international AutoBuy processes the order without requiring manual customs entry.

Closing note

The setting is off by default and takes effect immediately when enabled. Existing storefronts are unaffected until the setting is turned on.

Auto Calculated Parcels Using a 1 Ă— 1 Parcel Size

If parcel auto calculation is enabled, you might see parcels being sent with a minimal size such as 1 × 1 and weight only. This can happen when the product being ordered does not have any stored length, width, or height, so the calculated order size is 0, 0, 0. In debug mode, this appears as “order final size” showing length 0, 0, 0 with only weight present, and width dropping to a “minimum 1 1”.

A common related requirement is wanting to auto calculate by weight while also having a default box size, but the behaviour above shows that when dimensions are not available, the calculation can drop to the minimum.

Using Debug Mode to Validate Parcel Size, Units, and Limits

When troubleshooting unexpected parcel sizes, debug mode can be used at checkout to view the calculated values being used. Debug mode may show things such as:

• “order final size” as length 0, 0, 0 with only weight present
• primary dimensions treated as inches, which matches what EasyPost uses
• max weight shown in ounces and max size shown in inches
• width dropping to “minimum 1 1” when size calculations hit a minimum

These values help confirm whether the order has usable dimensions or whether it is effectively being treated as size 0, 0, 0.

Predefined Parcels vs Predefined Parcel Names, and Why You May See Two Requests

Parcel settings can behave differently depending on what you select:
• Selecting predefined parcels will only send the predefined parcels.
• Selecting predefined parcel names will pass parcel names as well as dimensions, and supported names need to be matched.

If your settings are configured to do both predefined parcels and auto calculation, you can see two separate requests:
• One request sending the predefined parcel measures you have entered
• Another request using auto calculated parcels, which can still show “one by one” dimensions with weight only

This explains why one request can look correct while the other still shows minimal parcel sizing.

“Requested Package Type Isn’t Available” When Requesting Rates

If rates are empty or not returned as expected, you may see an error message like:
“requested package type isn’t available for the selected service”.

This ma be a package and parcel naming issue. The suggested troubleshooting approach is to review the response messages and try different package names until the correct supported name is used. There is also a specific warning that if you do not have the correct name, it will not work.

Too Many Carrier Errors in the Response

If your EasyPost account has multiple carriers enabled, the rate response can include many error blocks from carriers you are not using.

To resolve, open carriers in EasyPost and delete carrier accounts you are not going to use, so those errors do not appear.

After removing carriers, the response becomes easier to interpret, and only the intended carrier appears.

If probmens persist, you may need to clear cache or wait a moment before the response reflects the changes.

Enabling Verbose Logs to Inspect Requests, Responses, and Messages

Verbose logging can be used to inspect what is being sent to EasyPost and what is returned. This can be enabled by granting access through roles for a platform administrator account. Enable “Verbose Logging Enable” in Connect Settings. If you cannot access the required settings, you may need to submit a support ticket and our team can enable this for you.

Two important notes:
• Verbose logging is sensitive, and can include customer details
• Verbose logging writes very large objects into the system logs, which you can explore to understand what is happening

Once enabled, the request and response objects can be reviewed, including parcel details, rates, and any messages that indicate mismatches.

Packaging Strategy for Products Packed by “How Many Fit in a Box”

For products where packaging is based on how many units fit in a box, rather than a unique parcel size per product, the best approach is to enter weight in a way that reflects the box capacity.

For example, this could mean dividing by the number of rolls that fit in a box.

A stated limitation is that this approach is not able to handle multiple parcels or multiple packages in that workflow. The supported approach is to use predefined parcels, which can be configured either in EasyPost or on the carrier side. Some carriers, such as UPS, allow you to enter parcel values in their admin site, optionally define a custom box name, and in some cases get better rates. When the box name or size matches, EasyPost returns the correct result.

Weight adjustments on attribute values can also be used as a way to tune the base product weight, based on variations such as size, and to reflect how many units fit in a box.

Easypost - Overview

What is Easypost?

Easypost is our answer to providing our customers with access to a large range of delivery providers all under one roof.

It works as an intermediary integrator with a single common integration approach. We integrate with Easypost once, they then handle all ongoing communication with the specific carriers, so we don't have to build a plugin for each provider individually.

Easypost offer a number of services but the ones that we utilise are their Rates API that allows us to return shipping costs during the checkout process and their Shipments APIwhich will create a shipment with the respective carrier and return a shipping label.

Our Easypost Plugin

The Easypost plugin is an additional paid module which will need to enabled on your platform once you have subscribed. To find our more information and prices please either contact Sales or raise a ticket with our Support Team.

As mentioned above the plugin service two main purposes - fetching rates to pass on and charge to the customer and creating shipments and corresponding shipping labels.

Rates

Using Easypost to fetch your shipping rates is, as mentioned above, one of the key features of our integration with Easypost. To read more on how to set this up and how it works read our Easypost Rates article here.

You can of course not use Easypost to generate your shipping rates - maybe you dont charge them to the customer or you offer a flat rate for all shipments - and instead use Infigo Delivery Methods. To find out how to map Infigo Delivery Methods to Easypost Shipping Methods read our article here.

Shipping labels

Generating Shipping Labels and creating a shipment within your specific carrier accounts is the biggest selling point of our Easypost Integration. There are many different ways a shipment can be triggered and a shipping label can be returned so have a read of our Shipping Labels article to find out more.

Our plugin also returns tracking numbers automatically, which allows for quicker and easier package handling. More information on our tracking information can be found here.

Easypost - Services

Infigo Academy: Easypost Rates

Overview

Our Easypost plugin supports the ability for Easypost to control the services and the shipping rates that you display to your customers as part of the checkout flow.

The rates that are returned are calculated based on many factors:

  • The items being ordered and thus the parcel sizes and number of parcels required to fulfill the shipping requirements (see our configuration article to understand the different options available)
  • The originating address of where you are producing the parcels and the carrier will be collecting them from
  • The shipping address of where the parcel is being shipped to. This is taken from the shipping address information entered by the customer during the checkout process.
  • The negotiated rates that you have configured against your carrier accounts that you have linked to in your Easypost account.

How To

In order to enable Easypost to handle returning services and rates for your storefront you need to enable it like you would any other Delivery Computation Method in Catfish.

Either search 'Computation' in the admin menu search bar or navigate to Configuration > Delivery > Delivery Computation (will be shipping instead of delivery for our US customers).

Click Edit next to the Easypost option and then enable the 'Is active' checkbox and click 'Update'.

mceclip0.png

If you don't want Easypost to control the services shown and the rates applied, but still want to use it to generate shipping labels, then you can have a look at our two articles on using Infigo Delivery Methods with Easypost and Shipments.

Selecting which rate to offer

Within our Easypost plugin we provide you with the option to choose which rates you offer to your end customers. Within the General settings section of the plugin there is a setting called 'Rate Type' and here you can choose between 'Rate', 'Retail Rate' and 'List Rate'.

mceclip1.png

  • Rate - This is the actual quote rate for this service on that specific carrier account. Usually includes any discounts or pre-arranged negotiated rates.
  • Retail Rate - The retail rate is the in-store rate given when no account is used
  • List Rate - This list rate is the non-negotiated rate given when you have an account with the carrier

This allows you to control which rate you want to offer to your end users and, knowing the rates that you will pay the carrier allows you to determine how much profit you want to make on the service.

Filtering Services

We have introduced the ability for you to decide, from all the services Easypost supports for each of your linked carriers, which services you want to be made available in your Infigo storefront.

mceclip0.png

Navigate to the Easypost plugin, and then scroll down until you find the section 'Carriers and Services'

This will be, by default, pre-populated depending on the carriers you have setup and mapped in your Easypost account. From the 'select carrier' dropdown, choose the carrier you want to focus on and then the services table below it will populate with all the available services that can be offered to your customers (obviously depending on parcel size, weight, shipping address etc).

Clicking on 'Edit' for a given service will display your service configuration popup.

mceclip1.png

(continued...)

mceclip2.png

Enabled for checkout: allows you to decide if this service should be shown to the end customer during the checkout process with the Easypost live rate. (This is also determined if you have Easypost live rates enabled or not)

Enabled for MIS: this determines whether or not you want to allow mapping of an Infigo shipping method to this service. It will not be shown to the customer in the front end.

Friendly Name: Allows you to customise the name of the service that is shown to the end customer

Additional Classes: If you wish to control the styling of each service you can add a custom CSS class name here and it will appended in the DOM, allowing you to control specific styling to specific services.

Order: This is the display order this service will appear in in the checkout.

Additional Shipping Fee type, Additional Shipping Fee Per Parcel, Additional Shipping Fee Per Order: As per the storefront wide setting, we allow for you to add an uplift to the returned rate from Easypost. These settings allow you to control this on a service by service basis. If the uplift will be a fixed amount increase or percentage, an amount that should be applied at a parcel level and an amount that should be applied at an order level.

Service specific options: This should only really be used with advice and support from our Customer Support team.

Easypost - Shipping Labels

Infigo Academy: Buy Shipping Instantly setting in Easypost

The integration with Easypost gives you the ability to generate shipping labels for parcels from within Infigo.

When are the shipping labels generated?

The shipping labels are generated at the point when you request Easypost to create a shipment. When this happens is determined by how you configure your Easypost plugin. When the shipment is created Easypost will return to us the number of shipping labels required to fulfil that shipment.

How many shipping labels will I get?

The number of shipping labels that are generated for any one shipment is dependent on number of parcels that are required to fulfil that shipment; and the number of parcels required to fulfil that shipment are determined by a number of settings within the plugin that you need to configure.

Parcels can be generated in one of two ways:

1) Calculated by Infigo using the dimensions and weight you apply to the products. A cubic root formula is used to estimate the parcel sizes taking into consideration the maximum weight and length settings you've configured. Infigo also look at whether you've want to create parcels at order level, order line level or order line quantity level.

or

2) By you with a series of predefined parcel sizes, or manually entering in the parcel dimensions and weight at the point of shipping.

A shipping label will then be generated and returned, one for every parcel.

How do I get the shipping labels?

There are a number of options for how you can obtain the shipping labels once they are returned by Easypost.

1) You can manually download them from Shared Print Operations once the shipment has been created. To do this simply click on 'view shipping information' link within the jobs Shipping Information section.

or

2) You can configure them to automatically copy to a hot folder of your choosing. This works well with Infigo Sync

or

3) Alternatively you can embed them into the packaging slip or job ticket

For all the options on how to configure your Easypost plugin to do the above, have a read of our Easypost configuration article.

How Do I Set Up an Account with EasyPost?

Infigo Academy: Setting up an account with Easypost | CI_Easypost_002

Please read this update from Easypost on the 1st October 2025: EasyPost Wallet and Bring Your Own Carrier Account Plans – EasyPost Support

Create an account

In order to use our Easypost plugin you must ensure you have created an Easypost account which, if you haven't done already you can do so here. For information on Easypost costs you can check their rates here.

Link up your carrier accounts

Now you have an Easypost account the first thing you need to do is link up all your carrier accounts with Easypost, so that you can start to use them and Easypost has access to fetch rates and generate shipments.

Login to your Easypost account and then click on the down arrow next to your email address in the top left corner and then from the menu select 'Carrier Accounts'.

mceclip0.png

Its very easy to add new carriers from here, simply use the search on the right hand panel to find the carrier you want to add to your account.

mceclip1.png

Here is a list of all the carriers that Easypost currently supports https://www.easypost.com/carriers. If there are carriers missing that you would like adding, then you can reach out to Easypost directly to see if they can add them to their supported list.

Once you have located and selected the carrier you want to add, you will need to populate all the details required to connect to that carrier. This information usually includes your account number, address details and any other carrier specific details so its best to have these to hand before you start.

Setup Payment Method

To add billing information to your account you can do this by clicking on the down arrow under your email address and selecting 'Billing' from the menu.

From here you can then add bank details or credit card details for any chargeable usages of your Easypost account.

Use the Easypost Checklist

Easypost have a handy Checklist feature if you click on the symbol in the bottom right of the screen it will guide you through the steps to get setup

mceclip2.png

Obtain API Keys

In order to connect to your Easypost account from Infigo we require your Easypost API Keys. To retrieve these from your account click on the down arrow next to your email address in the top left corner and then from the menu select 'API Keys'.

On this page you are presented with two API keys. One for Production and one for Test. For now, copy and save both API keys somewhere safe and secure as we will use these later when setting up your Easypost Infigo plugin.

How Do I Enable and Configure EasyPost in Infigo?

Infigo Academy: Enabling and configuring Easypost | CI_Easypost_003

Overview

Firstly you need to have purchased our Easypost plugin and have created an account with Easypost.

Now you need to enable the plugin and configure it. To do so, go to the admin menu > Configuration > Settings > Integrations > Connect Settings

Plugins > Connect Plugins, or search 'Connect Plugins' in the admin search at the top of the menu.

Enable EasyPost both in the Enabled MIS Plugins section and the Plugins to Handle Delivery

mceclip1.png

Now navigate to MIS Plugins to configure the connection and how you want it to behave. Either search 'Connect plugins' in the admin search or navigate to Configuration > Plugins > Connect Plugins.

Easypost Plugin Configuration Settings

Connecting to Easypost

In order to establish a connection the following fields need to be populated

API Key – This API Key can be obtained from your Easypost account (see here for more details) and can either be your Test API Key or your Production API key depending on whether you're testing this and do not want to have shipments actually created with your shipping providers, or using it in live production.

Production API Key – This API Key can also be obtained from your Easypost account and should be the production API Key always as this is used to fetch your list of available carriers mapped to your Easypost account.

Additional Shipping Fees

If you wish to apply an additional uplift to your shipping prices, this can be configured here.

Additional Shipping Fee Per Parcel – This fee (set in your primary store currency) will be added to each Parcel that is created for the order. It is applied either as a fixed amount, or a percentage.

Additional Shipping Fee Per Order – This fee (again set in your primary store currency) will be added to the total shipping cost for the whole order. It is applied either as a fixed amount, or a percentage.

General Settings

The main setting in this section that is important is the Buy Shipping Instantly, read below to understand why.

Buy Shipping Instantly

When enabled we will send a request to Easypost as soon as the order is placed. This means that you won't have to trigger the shipment manually but you will also not necessarily be able to control on an order by order basis the parcels and sizes that are sent. When you have Auto Parcel Size Calculation set to true we will send all the calculated parcels in the request. When you have Auto Parcel Size Calculation set to false we will send all your predefined parcel sizes in the request.

When disabled we will not send the request to Easypost to create shipping labels automatically. Instead if you navigate to Shared Print Operations in admin and locate the job and expand it you will see a link under Shipping Information called 'Show shipping information'

mceclip2.png

When you click this a popup will appear that will then let you manage your shipment request manually.

mceclip4.png

It displays the carrier and service the customer selected in checkout.

It also lets you define the parcels that you want to send as part of the shipment.

Once you have created your parcel sizes or selected from your predefined parcel list, you can create the shipment which at this stage will then send the request to Easypost and return the shipping labels.

NOTE: For international shipments that require customs information to be sent with the shipment you must assign items from the order specifically into parcels. To do this click on the 'Add shipment information' button and then drag each order item into the respective parcel you have created. We also do not support 'Buy Shipping Instantly' for international shipments due to the customs related information - these must be triggered and handled manually.

Send Calculated DispatchBy as label date

Enable this setting if you have potential production restrictions or cut off times enabled on your storefront. This will ensure that those dates calculated in Infigo for those offsets are sent to Easypost so that the date printed on the label reflects that. I.e. if you have a cut off time for 5pm and an order comes in after that time you will be shipping the items tomorrow, not today, so this setting will ensure that tomorrows date is included on the label and not todays.

NOTE: This setting is only valid when 'Buy Shipping Instantly' is enabled.

Multiply Quantity by Record Count

When working with batch products you can enable this setting if you want us to include the record count quantities when calculating the parcel dimensions and quantity.

Signature

This is a dropdown that allows you to decide if you want to include services to your customers that require a signature. You have 3 options to choose from:

  • None - No services requiring a signature will be returned
  • Required - Only services requiring a signature will be shown
  • Optional - All services will be shown, both requiring and not requiring a signature

Saturday Delivery

Similar to the Signature setting above, this is a drop down that allows you to decide if you want to include services that will deliver on a Saturday. With the same three options as above.

Show Delivery Date/Days

This option allows you to decide if you want to display in the checkout the Delivery days or dates associated with that service and shipment.

  • No - Will not show any delivery date or day information
  • Delivery Days - Will show in the checkout next to each service the number of days returned from Easypost for the transit of that parcel for that service to that destination.
  • Delivery Date - Will show in the checkout next to each service the estimated delivery date returned from Easypost if they were to choose that service.

Rate Type

Here we allow you to choose between three different rates that Easypost return for each service

Rate - This is the actual rate quote on your account for that service. This will usually be a slightly cheaper pre-negotiated rate that has been agreed with your carrier on your account.

Retail Rate - This is the retail rate for that particular servce for anyone wanting to use it that doesn't have an account already.

List Rate - This is the non-negotiated rate provided for every account with that carrier. So will generally be cheaper that the retail rate but not as competitive as the negotiated rate.

Debug Mode

As the name suggests, this should only be used when debugging to try and obtain additional information from the plugin. When used in live this should always be disabled.

Carrier and Services Settings

This section should be used when you are not using Easypost to obtain the rates and instead want to map Infigo delivery methods to Easypost services so that when the order is placed the correct services are used.

Carriers and Services Mapping - This section will display a list of all your mapped couriers that exist within your Easypost account.

mceclip2.png

Next to each carrier you have a text box and this should be used to enter in all the services for each carrier that you then want to map to a Infigo Delivery Method. It should contain a list of semi-colon-separated values that include the Easypost service name exactly as they have it on their site.

To understand all the Easypost service codes please have a look here. You can switch between carriers and there will find a list of Service Levels - each of these are the supported service that you can use for that carrier.

For example, if you want to map a series of UPS services for example 'Standard' and 'Ground' then you would enter in the following into the UPS carrier mapping field (as per the screenshot above)

Standard;Ground

These can then be used later when mapping your Infigo Delivery Methods to Easypost Services.

Vendor Information

This information essentially tells Easypost information about where the parcels will be shipped from, which gets used when helping to calculate the costs and also some contact information that may be passed on to the carriers about who to contact if they need to.

Vendor Name, Company Name, Street, City, State Province (Abbreviation), Zip code, Country ISO code, Phone Number and Email address should all be populated.

Parcel Settings

This section determines how your parcels sizes will be calculated and sent to Easypost.

Auto Parcel Size Calculation - This setting essentially determines whether or not you would like Infigo to calculate the number of parcels and the dimensions of the parcels based on a specific formula or use a set or predefined parcel sizes.

When enabled, we will take the quantity and the dimensions of the items being ordered and then along with the following two settings - Max Parcel Weight and Max Parcel Length - determine the optimum parcel count and size for the items being ordered. It is important that when using this that all your products have dimension values entered for weight, height, length and width.

When disabled we allow you to configure your own pre-defined parcel sizes as explained below.

Max Package/Parcel Weight - This setting lets you define the maximum parcel weight. As mentioned above it will be used when determining if multiple parcels are required if the maximum weight is exceeded. Currently this is a storefront setting so will be sent for all carriers linked to your Easypost account. This is in ounces.

Max Package/Parcel Length - This setting lets you define the maximum parcel length (longest side). It too is used when determining if multiple parcels are required if the maximum length is exceeded. This is in inches.

Parcel Allocation Level - There are three options here - Order, Order Line, Order Line Quantity. It allows you to decide what inputs into the parcel size calculations. If you set this to Order it will consider ALL items in that order when calculating the parcel sizes.

When you set this to Order Line it will do a calculation for each order line item, so at the very least you will receive back a shipping label for each order line item (more if the maximum parcel length or weights are exceeded).

When you set this to Order Line Quantity it will do the calculation for every quantity of order line items. So here you will essentially receive at least on parcel/shipping label per unit.

Use Predefined Package Names - When this setting is enabled it will instead of sending parcel dimensions and weights to the carriers it will instead send the predefined parcels you create in the below setting as predefined packages. The names of the predefined parcels you then set are important as they will relate to the services that you are requesting.

For example, Fedex offer a service called 'One Rate' this is a service where the parcels are all the same, specific size and generally cheaper and if you can fit the goods in that predefined box it can be shipped. So creating a predefined parcel called 'One Rate' and adding the set dimensions for it will request the One Rate shipping rates from Fedex.

Predefined parcels - When not using the Auto Parcel Size Calculation setting we allow you to configure your own predefined parcel sizes. These can then be selected when requesting a shipment.

When Buy Shipping Instantly setting is true we will request a shipping label for every predefined parcel size you have configured. If you also have your parcel allocation level set to Order Line or Order Line Quantity then your predefined parcels will be requested for each of those too. When Buy Shipping Instantly is disabled, and you are requesting your shipments manually, then these predefined parcels will becoming options for you to select from when requesting creating the shipment (saving you from writing out the dimensions manually each time).

Artifacts Settings

This section allows you to configure a specific hot folder mapping for your shipping labels.

Labels Hot Folder - If you want the shipping label to be automatically downloaded to a hot folder so that you can then automate the printing of it you can specify a hot folder mapping here.

Packaging Slip Hot Folder - We support for the shipping label to be embedded within a packaging slip so defining a hot folder mapping here will enable this functionality. The shipping label will be requested and returned by Easypost and then we will embed it within a specific region of your packaging slip which will then be downloaded to the specified hot folder.

Job Ticket Hot Folder - Similar to the Packaging Slip we also allow for the shipping label to be embedded within the job ticket. So depending on whether you are doing order line or order shipping you will generally use one or the other.

Customs Information

Customs information is only used when you are shipping your goods internationally and the origin and destination country requires it.

Here we allow for different information to be configured which will essentially be used as for the default requests when fetching rates before we understand what is in the parcels. All of the information entered below will be sent for ALL orders from that storefront when required.

Order Content Type - A drop down of options supported that help define what it is you are shipping

Order Content Explanation - A field for you to provide a more detailed explanation of the goods being shipped from your storefront

EEL Pfc Threshold - The threshold value to define what Pfc code should be sent with the order

EEL Pfc Over - The Pfc code that will be sent with the order when the value of the order is above the EEL Pfc Threshold amount.

EEL Pfc Under - The Pfc code that will be sent with the order when the value of the order is below the EEL Pfc Threshold amount.

Send dummy customs in rate call - Enable this setting if you want to send dummy customs information with the rates request when the customer is in the checkout. This will allow for international services that require customs information to be returned and shown to the customer when ordering and include a price.

HsTariffNumber - This is the fallback default Hs Tariff Number that will be sent with the order.

Manifest Files

Only really used for specific carriers that require a manifest to be sent. In situations where you do require this, please raise a support ticket and the team will help you configure this.

How do I offer Infigo delivery methods, but still use Easypost to generate shipping labels?

So, you want to create shipping labels, but use our own Shipping by weight, fixed rate or custom delivery pricing plugins? No problem. This article will talk you through the steps.

How-To

Firstly, you need to setup your Carrier and Services Mapping, found in the Carrier and Services Settings section in the Easypost plugin configuration.

mceclip0.png

You can find a list of all the Easypost carriers and services and the service names to use here.

Once you have entered all of the services you want to offer, you need to map them to the Infigo Delivery Methods. Navigate in Infigo to the first delivery method you want to actually map.

For example, in this scenario I want to offer two fixed rate services to my customers - Standard & Express. Standard I am setting as a fixed price of 9.99 and Express a fixed price of 14.99.

When someone chooses the Standard option during checkout, I want it to request a shipment for USPS Priority, and a corresponding shipping label. When someone chooses the Express option during checkout, I want it to request a shipment for USPS Express.

I have already created the two Delivery Methods and now I want to map them.

I navigate to my delivery methods - Configuration > Settings > Delivery > Delivery Methods - and then click Edit on the one I want to map. In this case - 'Standard.'

Now I click on the green Infigo Connect button (the same way we map other Infigo entities to external systems) and in the popup a custom UI is generated that allows me to select a carrier and a service from the drop down lists provided. These drop down lists are essentially what is populated from the Carrier and Services Mapping section in the plugin configuration we referenced earlier.

For the Carrier I select USPS and for the Service I select 'Priority'

You will notice that in the External Id field it is building up a specific Easypost reference for that service that will be sent with the shipment request.

Click 'Save External Reference' and that delivery method is now mapped to a USPS Priority service.

Now do the same steps again for the Express Delivery Method and this time, from the Service drop down select the Express option.

Now, anytime someone chooses either of these two fixed rate delivery methods during the checkout process, the relevant shipment and shipping label will be generated for either USPS Priority or USPS Express.

NOTE: This mapping option is currently only available for the following Infigo Delivery Computation Methods: Fixed Rate, Weight Based Delivery, Custom Delivery Pricing

Services offered by our UPS, USPS, Fedex rate plugins are not supported.

How do I get tracking information back from Easypost?

Easypost offer their own tracking information for every parcel that is sent through the system. By default when a shipment is created from Infigo using our Easypost plugin we will save the tracking information that is returned with the shipping label.

What does this tracking information look like?

Easypost return a link that when viewed is an webpage that contains lots of information about the order

mceclip0.png

Including the expected Delivery Date, the service that is used and its carrier specific tracking code and the stage at which the parcel is at that point in time. This tracking page will update as the parcel continues along its journey so it will provide your customers with almost real time updates.

Where can the tracking information be used?

Once the shipment has been created and the tracking information has automatically be stored against the order there are many places that this is then visible in the system.

  1. Shared Print Operations - When viewing the jobs in that order in SPO you will see a shipping information section that contains a Tracking Number field. This will be populated with the Easypost tracking URL.
  2. Sales Order - Similar to Shared Print Operations we will display the tracking information against the order here too.
  3. My Account - Each customer has a series of pages available to them under My Account. One of them is My Orders which as you know is essentially a history of all the orders they have placed. When they drill down into each order we display the Tracking information and the links to the tracking pages (above) here for them to access at any point.
  4. Shipping confirmation emails - If you have them enabled, when an order is set as shipped in Infigo we will trigger the Order Shipped Notification email. In here we have a specific message token that you can use to populate the tracking information returned from Easypost in the email.

Message Token = %Order.TrackingInformation%

How to include DDP (Incoterm) in Easypost shipping requests

Problem

You want to include an Incoterm (e.g. DDP – Delivered Duty Paid) in your Easypost shipping requests, but:

  • You can’t find a setting in Infigo to configure this
  • Easypost documentation suggests it should be possible
  • You’re unsure whether this is supported or requires development

Cause

Easypost does support incoterms (e.g. "incoterm": "DDP" in the API request), but:

  • This option is part of the Easypost API, not a standard exposed setting in Infigo
  • The Infigo Easypost plugin does not always surface all API options as configurable fields

This means functionality may exist at API level, but not be directly configurable in the UI.

Resolution

1. Understand how incoterms are handled

Easypost allows incoterms via shipment options, for example:

"options": {
"incoterm": "DDP"
}

However, when using Infigo:

  • These values must be passed through the plugin configuration/service layer
  • They are not typically set directly by users in standard settings

2. Check existing configuration

In some cases, this can be configured:

  • During implementation
  • Via backend/service-level configuration
  • Or by the Infigo team during setup

In this specific case, the flag was successfully added to the service configuration following a review.

3. When to raise a request

If you need to include DDP (or similar options) and don’t see it available:

  • Raise a support request
  • The team may:
    • Review whether it can be configured
    • Add it via configuration
    • Or raise a development task if needed

Important limitation ⚠️

Not all Easypost API options are:

  • Available in the UI
  • Configurable without support/development input

Each case may require review depending on:

  • Your shipping setup
  • Plugin capabilities
  • Specific requirements

Key takeaway đź’ˇ

Even if Easypost supports a feature (like DDP), it doesn’t automatically mean it’s configurable in Infigo’s interface—it may need to be added at a service or development level.

Still not working?

If DDP isn’t being applied:

  • Confirm whether it has been added to your Easypost configuration
  • Check with support if the incoterm flag is being passed in the request
  • Provide your use case (e.g. overseas shipping requirements) to help guide setup

How Do I Add Multiple EasyPost Tax Identifiers?

What’s New

The EasyPost integration now supports sending multiple tax identifiers on a shipment.

Previously, the EasyPost configuration supported a single sender tax identifier. With this update, Infigo can now pass multiple sender and receiver identifiers to EasyPost, helping support more complex international shipping and customs requirements.

This is especially useful where carriers require tax information for both the sender and receiver, such as VAT or EORI details.

What Was It Like Before?

Previously, EasyPost tax identifier configuration was limited to one sender tax identifier.

This worked for simpler shipping setups, but could be restrictive for international shipping where multiple tax identifiers may be required depending on the carrier, destination, and shipment type.

Receiver tax identifiers were also not configurable, meaning customer-specific tax information could not be passed as part of the EasyPost shipment request.

What's Changed?

EasyPost tax identifier configuration has been expanded in two areas:

Sender Tax Identifiers

Admins can now configure multiple sender tax identifiers within the EasyPost plugin settings.

Each identifier can include:

  • Tax identifier type
  • Tax ID value
  • Issuing country

The issuing country can be set directly, or fall back to the existing vendor country setting if left blank.

Receiver Tax Identifiers

Receiver tax identifiers can now be configured against the customer using the customer External ID / Connect configuration area.

Each receiver identifier can include:

  • Tax identifier type
  • Tax ID value
  • Issuing country

If the issuing country is not provided, Infigo can fall back to the customer’s shipping address country.

Customer VAT Support

A new EasyPost-specific placeholder is also available for customer VAT values.

This allows the customer’s VAT number to be used as a receiver tax identifier where appropriate, without needing to manually re-enter the value in the EasyPost customer configuration.

For example, receiver tax identifier configuration can use:

%Customer.VAT%

This helps reduce duplicate data entry and keeps shipment tax data aligned with existing customer records.

How It Works

When a shipment is created, Infigo builds the tax identifier list based on the configured EasyPost sender and receiver values.

Only populated identifiers are included.

If a tax ID or issuing country is missing for a configured identifier, that entry is skipped rather than blocking shipment creation.

EasyPost supports a maximum of eight tax identifiers per shipment across sender and receiver identifiers combined, so configurations should be kept focused on the identifiers required by your carriers.

How to Set It Up

Configure Sender Tax Identifiers

  1. Navigate to the EasyPost plugin settings in Admin.
  2. Locate the Sender Tax Identifiers section.
  3. Add the required tax identifier type, such as VAT or EORI.
  4. Enter the Tax ID value.
  5. Enter the issuing country, if required.
  6. Save your settings.

If the issuing country is left blank, Infigo will fall back to the vendor country configured in the EasyPost settings.

Configure Receiver Tax Identifiers

  1. Navigate to Customer Management
  2. Open the customer’s External ID / Connect configuration area.
  3. Locate the EasyPost receiver tax identifier settings.
  4. Add the required receiver tax identifier values.
  5. Save the customer configuration.

If the issuing country is left blank, Infigo will fall back to the customer’s shipping address country.

Tips

Use sender tax identifiers for your organisation’s own shipping or customs identifiers.

Use receiver tax identifiers when the customer’s tax details need to be passed to EasyPost for international shipment processing.

If you already store customer VAT numbers in Infigo, use the customer VAT placeholder rather than manually duplicating the same value.

Before adding multiple identifiers, confirm which tax ID types are required by your carrier and destination country.

Troubleshooting

If a tax identifier is not appearing in the EasyPost request, check that both the Tax ID value and issuing country can be resolved.

If the issuing country is missing, confirm that the appropriate fallback value exists, either from the EasyPost vendor country setting or the customer’s shipping address country.

If too many identifiers are configured, review the setup and keep only the identifiers required for the shipment, as EasyPost allows a maximum of eight tax identifiers per shipment.

Summary

The EasyPost integration now provides more flexible tax identifier support for international shipping.

By allowing multiple sender and receiver tax identifiers, Infigo can better support carrier requirements, customer VAT data, and more advanced customs workflows.
