Previously, original uploaded artwork files were not accessible to admin users. Only processed versions (after preflight or PDF profiles) were available, and retrieving originals required Support or developer access.
Now, original files are stored alongside the job and can be accessed directly by authorised users.
How It Works
When a customer uploads artwork:
- The original file is stored before any processing is applied
- It is saved alongside the job in storage
- Admin users with the correct permission can download it
Permissions
Access is controlled via a new permission:
“Admin area: Download Original Artwork”
Only users with this permission can access and download original files.
Please contact our support team if you wish to enable this permission.
Storage & Performance Improvements
As part of this update:
- Uploaded files can now be stored using AWS S3 (when enabled)
- This improves upload performance and scalability
- Storage handling is more efficient for large or multipart files
Why This Matters
This makes it much easier to:
- Investigate artwork issues
- Compare original vs processed files
- Support customers without escalation
