Overview

Saved quotes let your customers save a priced product as a named quote. They can come back to it later to order, share a link to it with a colleague, or keep several options side by side.

What it does

  • A Quote button on products - next to Add to basket; the customer names the quote and saves it.
  • Saved Quotes in My Account - every quote with its name, date, quantity, price and status.
  • Shareable quote links - each quote has a URL that opens the product with the same options.
  • Expiry - quotes stay valid for the number of days you set, then show as expired.

How it works

  • Quote settings (Configuration > Settings > Quote settings) - Allow Save Quote turns the feature on; Default Quote Expiry (in days) and Recreate the quote control validity.
  • Customer Settings - Show quote area adds Saved Quotes to the My Account menu.

Good to know

  • Turn on both Allow Save Quote and Show quote area - with only the first, customers can save quotes but have no page to find them again.
  • Email on the Saved Quotes page sends the quote by email.
  • Hover the Valid tag to see the exact expiry date.
  • With "If product requires a quote hide price", products that require a quote show no price until a quote is used.

Before you begin

  • Decide how long a quote should stay valid. 0 means quotes never expire.

Step-by-step

  1. Turn on saved quotes

Go to Configuration > Settings > Quote settings and tick Allow Save Quote. A Quote button then appears next to Add to basket on your products.

  2. Set how long quotes stay valid
