Infigo Insights in Metabase

00:00:07:04 - 00:00:11:08
gives you the ability
to generate information packed dashboards

00:00:11:10 - 00:00:13:25
based on the questions
that you've specified, such

00:00:13:25 - 00:00:17:10
as the ones we've seen
in our previous tutorials.

00:00:17:13 - 00:00:19:16
Multiple questions are placed onto

00:00:19:16 - 00:00:23:01
and positioned within one dashboard.

00:00:23:04 - 00:00:26:00
These dashboards can be viewed
from within Metabase

00:00:26:00 - 00:00:28:13
or from within your Infigo admin area.

00:00:28:13 - 00:00:33:07
If covered by your Insights, plan,

00:00:33:10 - 00:00:35:06
we're going to create a dashboard
from scratch here.

00:00:35:06 - 00:00:42:18
If I just go to New Up on the top right
and click on dashboard.

00:00:42:21 - 00:00:45:13
We can import a dashboard name
description,

00:00:45:13 - 00:00:48:26
and the Collection
in which we want to save the dashboard.

00:00:48:29 - 00:00:50:28
Then hit create.

00:00:50:28 - 00:00:54:01
If you have the correct Insights level
and wish for these dashboards

00:00:54:01 - 00:00:59:05
to be available from within Infigo admin,
then place them within

00:00:59:07 - 00:01:03:08
the name of your particular platform,
which in my case is training DOT

00:01:03:11 - 00:01:22:14
and then dashboards.

00:01:22:17 - 00:01:23:17
you'll be able to add

00:01:23:17 - 00:01:26:17
the results
of your previously specified questions.

00:01:26:18 - 00:01:31:11
These could be, for example, tables
of data or preconfigured charts.

00:01:31:13 - 00:01:35:04
Search through your collections
and locate your questions of interest.

00:01:35:07 - 00:01:39:28
If I click on the plus icon on the top
right, that allows me to add a question.

00:01:40:01 - 00:01:41:15
And it's just a case of searching

00:01:41:15 - 00:01:45:05
through all of our relevant collections
or hitting the search icon here

00:01:45:07 - 00:02:00:17
and then just finding the questions
we wish to add to the dashboard.

00:02:00:20 - 00:02:01:03
So you'll see

00:02:01:03 - 00:02:04:06
all of your previously asked
questions will be listed here, will

00:02:04:06 - 00:02:08:01
give you an icon to show the type of data
that you'll see as a result.

00:02:08:03 - 00:02:11:24
So we've got a graph, for example,
we've got a table,

00:02:11:26 - 00:02:14:19
we've got a single value and a pie chart.

00:02:14:19 - 00:02:18:25
So it gives us an indication
of what they're going to be.

00:02:18:27 - 00:02:21:27
And I can
just click on the pieces of information

00:02:22:02 - 00:02:26:11
I want to add to the dashboard,

00:02:26:14 - 00:02:27:15
and then you'll see that

00:02:27:15 - 00:02:31:10
there's these little squares
consisting of the background

00:02:31:10 - 00:02:34:19
of the dashboard
that allows us to actually

00:02:34:21 - 00:02:37:02
position and resize

00:02:37:02 - 00:02:41:07
and create things on this dashboard
that we

00:02:41:09 - 00:02:44:07
and have them orientated the exact way
that we want them.

00:02:44:07 - 00:02:47:26
So for example, just to

00:02:47:28 - 00:02:50:17
go, I just resize and reposition

00:02:50:17 - 00:03:07:24
a couple of these elements.

00:03:07:27 - 00:03:10:27
We can see how we start
to get a very useful set of data

00:03:11:04 - 00:03:16:23
all on one screen.

00:03:16:25 - 00:03:19:04
We also have the ability to add text box

00:03:19:04 - 00:03:23:10
areas onto the dashboard
using this icon on top of the screen here.

00:03:23:12 - 00:03:25:26
And this allows you to specify
specific text

00:03:25:26 - 00:03:51:18
where you can include things like markdown
if specifically required.

00:03:51:21 - 00:03:52:29
Now, before we can actually see

00:03:52:29 - 00:03:56:23
this dashboard properly in action,
we do need to save it.

00:03:56:23 - 00:04:00:11
So the same process as with a question,
just go to save up on the top.

00:04:00:11 - 00:04:01:07
Right?

00:04:01:07 - 00:04:04:07
If you haven't already specified
where that needs to be saved,

00:04:04:07 - 00:04:05:11
you'll need to do so.

00:04:05:11 - 00:04:08:28
Otherwise it will just save it to the pre
specified area.

00:04:09:00 - 00:04:10:17
And then it takes us to this screen here,

00:04:10:17 - 00:04:13:28
which is a slightly larger
version of that dashboard.

00:04:14:00 - 00:04:17:00
Now, just want to draw your attention
to a couple of the settings

00:04:17:05 - 00:04:19:25
on the top right of the screen.

00:04:19:25 - 00:04:21:29
So one of them is the ability to edit
the dashboard.

00:04:21:29 - 00:04:24:14
That takes us back to the previous view.

00:04:24:14 - 00:04:26:27
Next along, you have subscriptions

00:04:26:27 - 00:04:31:00
that allows you
to actually send this dashboard

00:04:31:01 - 00:04:34:24
to whatever email address
you like on a regular basis.

00:04:34:27 - 00:04:38:16
So for example, if I say I want to email
it I'll have my own email address

00:04:38:16 - 00:04:40:00
in there as an example.

00:04:40:00 - 00:04:46:12
We can specify
how often we want this to be sent,

00:04:46:15 - 00:04:48:23
specify
when it's going to be sent an alternative.

00:04:48:23 - 00:04:52:03
We we've got the ability to just send it
now if we wish to do so, and that will

00:04:52:03 - 00:05:03:16
provide us
with an email version of that data.

00:05:03:19 - 00:05:04:11
Also on here,

00:05:04:11 - 00:05:08:15
we have the ability to auto refresh,
so by default the auto refresh is off.

00:05:08:17 - 00:05:11:18
But let's say we just want to leave
this dashboard in the background

00:05:11:18 - 00:05:12:20
and keep an eye on it.

00:05:12:20 - 00:05:20:17
You can specify how often it refreshes

00:05:20:19 - 00:05:23:29
and then the icon at the end here,
we do have the ability to duplicate this.

00:05:23:29 - 00:05:28:20
If you want to make modifications to
a similar one, you can archive or move it

00:05:28:22 - 00:05:32:16
and you do have the ability to enter
full screen, which is nice and simple.

00:05:32:18 - 00:05:37:08
But if you have a specific monitor
set up to keep

00:05:37:08 - 00:05:42:11
hold of these metrics, the full screen
might be a useful thing for you to keep on

00:05:42:13 - 00:05:57:08
hand.

00:05:57:11 - 00:06:00:22
Now, if you wish to modify
any of the questions on your dashboard,

00:06:00:22 - 00:06:05:19
you can do so from within the dashboard
itself and go direct to that question.

00:06:05:21 - 00:06:09:18
Simply click on the title of the question
box to be taken directly

00:06:09:22 - 00:06:14:28
to that question.

00:06:15:01 - 00:06:17:04
And from here you can modify the question

00:06:17:04 - 00:06:20:04
in the same manner
as we've seen in previous tutorials.

00:06:20:09 - 00:06:22:18
So here
we're seeing the resulting dataset.

00:06:22:18 - 00:06:25:10
But if we go back to show editor,

00:06:25:10 - 00:06:29:16
we can modify how that question
is being asked.

00:06:29:18 - 00:06:32:13
Alternatively, we've got the filter
and the summarize options

00:06:32:13 - 00:06:36:12
at the top of the screen here.

00:06:36:14 - 00:06:37:01
Once you've made

00:06:37:01 - 00:06:40:28
a modification, click on the save icon
that will appear and you'll get the option

00:06:40:28 - 00:06:45:26
to either replace the existing question
or to create a new question.
