Configuring Product Versioning in the Editor

This article explains how to configure your product editor to support multiple versions for a single product order. For example, when customers design business cards with different versions, the system can consolidate these into one order ticket, simplifying production and reducing errors.

A global setting within the product settings controls how multiple design versions are added to the shopping basket. Adjusting this setting influences whether a customer adds one version at a time or continues modifying the design to include several versions in a single transaction.

Follow the guide below to learn about the available modes, where to find the setting in the admin interface, and step-by-step instructions for configuring your platform to handle versioning efficiently.

Use cases

  • When customers need to create multiple design iterations on the same product.
  • When order processing benefits from consolidating multiple versions into one ticket.
  • Simplifying production management for high-volume products such as business cards.

Key settings in Infigo

  • Select the 'Add to Basket' mode: Located in the MegaEdit Products Settings panel, this option controls how design versions are added to the shopping basket.

    Step-by-step guide

    1. Log in to the admin panel and navigate to the MegaEdit Products Settings section.
    2. Locate the option labeled Select the 'Add to Basket' mode.
    3. Review the three available modes:
      • Normal: Adds a single design/version to the basket.
      • Copy design: Allows users to add an item and then continue designing the next version before finalizing the order.
      • Copy design and normal: Offers flexibility to either add one version at a time or create multiple versions in one session.
    4. Select the mode that best aligns with your production workflow.
    5. Save your changes and test the new configuration by adding multiple versions of a design via the editor.
    6. Confirm that the order is consolidated into a single ticket with the correct quantity multiplied by the number of versions.
