Configuring Dropdown Addresses on Business Card Templates

This article explains how to integrate a dropdown list for address prefixes in your business card templates using InDesign and the Invent platform. The solution allows you to maintain your original two-line address format while appending addresses from an Excel file.

By using Text Resources and Dropdown Variables, you can dynamically update the displayed address on your business card templates. This setup streamlines the process and avoids repetitive manual updates.

Follow this guide to configure the new address setting, ensuring your design remains consistent while offering flexibility for customer-specific address data.

Use cases

  • Integrating customer-provided addresses into business card designs.
  • Maintaining the original design layout from the InDesign file while adding dynamic address selection.
  • Automatically updating address fields based on selections from an Excel data source.
