Supported File Types for Image Upload Variables

This article explains which file formats are supported when using an image upload variable with the file type set to ALL. It also clarifies why SVG files cannot be used even though they may appear as an image file format.

When the file type is set to ALL in the image upload settings, only specific raster image formats are accepted. Supported formats include jpg, jpeg, and png. Although SVG is technically a RASTER image format, it is not supported in this context.

If your workflow involves QR Codes or other graphics that are originally in SVG format, you will need to convert these files to one of the supported raster formats before uploading, or consider alternative methods for generating QR Codes within the product.

Use cases

  • Uploading standard image files (jpg, jpeg, png) as part of a variable configuration.
  • Encountering issues when attempting to upload SVG files for QR Code purposes.

Key settings in the platform

  • File Type Option: Found under the Image Variable Settings where you can select the file types allowed for uploads.
  • Upload Variable Configuration: Navigate to the section where image variables are set up to review and adjust the permitted file formats.
