PrintIQ supports a concept called Kinds. This is essentially the number of versions of a job. In practice, a “kind” can come from either the number of records (e.g., a batch/CSV with multiple entries) or the number of pages (e.g., a multi-page MegaEdit artwork). This update adds support for sending a Kinds value to PrintIQ from your Infigo storefront. You can now choose, globally or per product, how Kinds are calculated and sent: Don’t send Kinds at all. Send the number of records as Kinds. Send the number of pages as Kinds. Optionally define how many records/pages make up one kind (e.g., 2 pages → 1 kind). Key Settings Connect: PrintIQ Plugin Settings (Global) – Data mapping group Kinds handlingChoose the default behavior for all products (unless overridden at product level): No Handling – no Kinds are sent (PrintIQ’s default is effectively 1). Number of records – send the job’s record count as Kinds. Number of pages – send the job’s page count as Kinds. Number of records/pages per kindAppears only if Number of records or Number of pages is selected.Defines how many records or pages make one kind (e.g., set to 2 to send 1 kind for every 2 pages). Per Product (via Connect Link) Kinds handlingSelect the behavior for this specific product: Default – follow the global plugin setting. No Handling Number of records Number of pages Number of records/pages per kindShown when Number of records or Number of pages is selected. Works the same as the global setting and overrides it for this product. Use Cases Batch products (records → kinds): A name-badge product where each CSV row is a record. Set Kinds handling = Number of records so the record count is sent as Kinds to PrintIQ. Multi-page artwork (pages → kinds): A sign insert where each page is priced as a separate version. Set Kinds handling = Number of pages. Group pages/records into one kind: If pricing should treat every 2 pages as 1 kind, set Number of pages per kind = 2. Global default with exceptions: Keep Number of records globally, but override a specific product to Number of pages. Step-by-Step Implementation Guide Set the global default Open the PrintIQ plugin settings. Go to the Data mapping group. Set Kinds handling to No Handling, Number of records, or Number of pages.
