Admins can see live changes even when caching is on

We’ve improved how caching works so that admins can see live changes, without you needing to turn caching off for the storefront.

Previously, when Output Cache was enabled, admins would sometimes:

  • Make a change to content, layout or pricing

  • Refresh the storefront

  • Still see the old version, because the cached page was being served

That made editing confusing and often led to unnecessary cache clears or configuration changes.

Now, the platform is smarter about this.

What’s changed?

From now on:

  • Admin users and layout editors see “live” pages, not cached versions, when they browse the storefront.

  • Regular storefront users still see cached pages, so you keep all the usual performance benefits.

In other words:

Customers get speed.
Admins get accuracy.

You don’t need to configure anything in your normal admin settings for this to work.

Who gets the live view?

The live, non-cached view applies when:

  • You’re logged in as an administrator / platform admin, or

  • You’re a user with access to the Layout Manager / content tools on the storefront

Everyone else (normal storefront users and customers) continues to see cached pages as before.

How this helps you day to day

This change means:

  • When you tweak content, layouts, navigation, pricing layouts or overlays,
you can simply refresh the page and see the actual result.

  • You can keep Output Cache enabled for performance and SEO, without it getting in the way of your admin work.

  • You no longer have to keep asking, “Is this broken, or is it just the cache?”

If something still looks cached or out of date to you as an admin, you can:

  1. Double-check you’re logged in with an admin or layout-editing account.

  2. Try a hard refresh in your browser (e.g. Ctrl + F5 or Cmd + Shift + R).

  3. If it still looks wrong, contact Infigo Support so they can investigate.

Do I need to change anything?

No – this is now standard behaviour.

  • Keep using Output Cache as you normally would.

  • Keep using the Content Overlay and Layout Manager as usual.

  • Just expect that admins see the latest version, while customers see the optimised, cached version.

If you ever feel that admins aren’t seeing live pages as expected, reach out to the support team and they can check the underlying configuration for your platform.
