Overview

A standard checkout asks for a billing address, a delivery address, a delivery methodOne of the forms of shipping or delivery available to the customers of a particular Storefront. and payment information before the customer confirms. Three settings skip those steps when the answer is already known.

What it does

  • Skip billing - customers with a saved billing address go straight past the billing step.
  • Skip delivery address - the delivery address is filled in automatically from the customer, their department or a default address.
  • Skip delivery method - when only one delivery method is available, it is chosen automatically.

How it works

  • Order Settings (Configuration > Settings > Order Settings) - Skip billing address step when one is available; Hide delivery method step if only one options is available.
  • Checkout Settings (Configuration > Settings > Checkout Settings) - Hide shipping addressThe destination details for where an order should be delivered, usually including recipient name, location, and contact information., with an optional Default shipping address.

Good to know

  • Customers without a saved address still see the billing step.
  • The delivery method step only disappears when exactly one method is available for the order.
  • Skip confirm order step also exists in Order Settings. Test it with your payment methodOne of the forms of payment available to the customers of a particular Storefront. before turning it on: the order is placed as soon as the last step is completed.

Before you begin

  • Make sure your customers have a billing address on their account (or set a default billing address in Order Settings).
  • Decide where delivery addresses should come from: the customer's account, their department, or a default shipping address.

  3. Skip the delivery address step

  4. Hide the delivery method step when there is only one option

Back in Order Settings, tick Hide delivery method step if only one options is available.
