Overview

Infigo Sync is the program you install to connect a computer to your storefront. The Connected Apps page in your admin area builds an installer for you, so you do not have to create an APIA programmatic interface that lets one system talk to another using structured requests and responses. key and type it in yourself.

What it does

  • Builds the installer for you - you choose a name and your operating system, and the page gives you a zip file to download.
  • Includes your connection details - your storefront address, the name and a dedicated API key are built into the installer.
  • Switches the key on at first connection - the key is created switched off and becomes active the first time Infigo Sync connects to your storefront.

Good to know

  • Each download creates its own new key, so download a separate installer for each Infigo Sync installation.
  • Run the installer soon after downloading. A key that never connects is removed after 30 days by default, and the installer then cannot connect. Download a new one if that happens.
  • The zip contains a key to your storefront. Treat it like a password: do not email or share it, and delete it once Infigo Sync is installed.
  • The Connected Apps page also has cards for InDesign and Iframe IntegrationA deployment mode where Infigo's product editor and order engine run in the background while a company's own external website or portal acts as the customer-facing shell.. Only the Infigo Sync card is covered here.

Before you begin

  • You need an admin role that has access to Connected Apps. If you cannot see it in the menu, ask an administrator who manages admin roles, or Infigo Customer Support.
  • Sign in on your storefront's usual web address. That address is built into the installer.
  • If the Infigo Sync card is missing from the page, or you need an operating system other than Windows, ask Infigo Customer Support.

Generate an Infigo Sync installer with your storefront address and its own API key built in.

  1. Setup

    Open Connected Apps Click Configuration, then Integrations / API, then Connected Apps.
  2. Click Download installer
    Click Download installer Sign in on your storefront's usual web address, then click Download installer on the Infigo Sync card. No card? Ask Infigo Customer Support. Ignore the InDesign card, including Rotate token.
  3. Check the Infigo Sync name
    Check the Infigo Sync name Keep the storefront name or type your own. Letters and numbers only, no spaces or symbols. Windows stays greyed out until there is a name.
  4. Click Windows
    Click Windows Click Windows. The zip InfigoSync-Installer-windows.zip downloads, then Your installer is ready. appears at the bottom of the page. Each download has its own key.
  5. Run the installer Extract the zip on the computer that will run Infigo Sync and run the installer program inside it. Do it soon: a key that never connects is removed after 30 days by default. The zip holds a key, so do not share it and delete it afterwards.

Your Infigo Sync installer is ready to run, with your storefront address, name and API key already built in.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Connected Apps
    1. In the admin menu, click Configuration.
    2. Click Integrations / API to open its sub-menu.
    3. Click Connected Apps.

    If you cannot see Connected Apps, your admin role does not have access to it. Ask an administrator who manages admin roles, or Infigo Customer Support.

  2. Click Download installer on the Infigo Sync card

    Sign in to the admin area on your storefront's usual web address first: that address is built into the installer. The page shows one card for each integration. On the Infigo Sync card, click Download installer. If there is no Infigo Sync card, ask Infigo Customer Support. You do not need to create an API key first: the installer comes with its own dedicated key (the window calls it an API token). Ignore the API Key and Copy button on the InDesign card, which are not used for Infigo Sync. Do not click Rotate token there: it replaces the InDesign key straight away.

  3. Check the Infigo Sync name

    The Download Infigo Sync installer window opens with the Infigo Sync name field filled in with your storefront name. Keep it, or type a name that tells you which Infigo Sync installation it is for. Use letters and numbers only, with no spaces or symbols: other characters are removed as you type. The Windows button stays greyed out until the field contains a name. The name is saved with the key and is built into the installer.

  4. Click Windows to download the installer

    Under Operating system, click Windows. If you need another operating system, ask Infigo Customer Support. The installer is built while you wait, which can take a moment. Your browser then downloads a zip file named InfigoSync-Installer-windows.zip, the window closes and the message Your installer is ready. appears at the bottom of the page. Check that the zip appears in your browser's downloads. If you see Could not build the installer. Please try again., try again, and ask Infigo Customer Support if it keeps happening. Each download creates a new key, so download once for each Infigo Sync installation.

  5. Run the installer on the Infigo Sync machine
    1. Copy the zip file to the computer that will run Infigo Sync and extract it.
    2. Run InfigoSync.Installer.exe from the extracted files. It may be inside a folder.
