Tutorial Video Transcript

00:00:13:20 - 00:00:14:00
In this

00:00:14:00 - 00:00:17:13
tutorial we learn how
to configure Easyposts and the Easypost

00:00:17:13 - 00:00:21:21
plugin within Infigo
to automatically place a shipment order.

00:00:22:07 - 00:00:24:27
And this is when a customer completes
the checkout process

00:00:24:27 - 00:00:28:10
on one of your storefronts.

00:00:28:20 - 00:00:30:13
So a use case for this.

00:00:30:13 - 00:00:32:29
So we use case for automatic shipment
orders.

00:00:33:20 - 00:00:38:10
Let's say an online store that ships
a large number of identical items

00:00:39:00 - 00:00:41:24
can use an instant label purchase system

00:00:41:24 - 00:00:45:03
for fast and efficient shipping.

00:00:45:03 - 00:00:48:21
As the items are predictable in size
and weights, the label can be generated

00:00:48:21 - 00:00:52:05
automatically without the need
for a human eye to verify it.

00:00:52:28 - 00:00:56:14
This system is particularly useful
when there are no customs involved

00:00:56:21 - 00:01:00:10
or the courier is not overly strict
around the accuracy of the label.

00:01:01:07 - 00:01:03:27
Additionally,
if production offsets are used,

00:01:04:03 - 00:01:07:25
the label can be generated immediately
for the correct shipment date.

00:01:07:28 - 00:01:12:13
Streamlining
the shipment process even further.

00:01:15:01 - 00:01:17:06
So the first thing we need to do to set up

00:01:17:06 - 00:01:21:05
this process is to enable
the buy shipping instantly option.

00:01:21:16 - 00:01:24:20
So this is within our Easypost
configuration settings.

00:01:25:03 - 00:01:27:08
Down to the general section.

00:01:27:08 - 00:01:29:13
And then by shipping instantly.

00:01:29:13 - 00:01:31:26
And then make sure you save that
to confirm the settings.

00:01:37:12 - 00:01:39:13
So when enabled,

00:01:39:22 - 00:01:41:18
this option will send

00:01:41:18 - 00:01:44:25
a request to Easypost
as soon as an order is placed.

00:01:45:07 - 00:01:47:27
This means that you won't have to trigger
the shipment manually,

00:01:48:07 - 00:01:52:08
but you will also not necessarily
be able to control on an order

00:01:52:08 - 00:01:56:01
by order basis things such as the parcels
and the sizes

00:01:56:01 - 00:01:57:02
that are sent.

00:01:57:18 - 00:02:00:12
Just a quick note
on some associated settings here.

00:02:00:14 - 00:02:03:12
If I scroll all the way down
to the parcel section

00:02:03:12 - 00:02:05:09
on the same screen

00:02:06:08 - 00:02:07:11
when by shipping

00:02:07:11 - 00:02:11:11
instantly is set to true,
we will request a shipping label

00:02:11:11 - 00:02:14:29
for every predefined parcel size
that you have figured.

00:02:15:21 - 00:02:18:26
If you also have your parcel allocation
level set to order

00:02:18:26 - 00:02:21:26
line or order and quantity,
then your predefined

00:02:21:26 - 00:02:24:27
parcels will be requested
for each of those as well.

00:02:25:27 - 00:02:29:10
And we go into the parcel settings
in a bit more detail,

00:02:29:18 - 00:02:32:12
in a different tutorial video.

00:02:36:10 - 00:02:39:06
Next, we'll go ahead and place
an order on our storefront.

00:02:39:12 - 00:02:42:14
Selecting a carrier
which provides rates via Easypost.

00:02:45:01 - 00:02:47:13
So with this order
now placed, we're going to verify

00:02:47:13 - 00:02:51:00
that the shipment order has been placed
within our Easypost account

00:02:51:19 - 00:02:53:23
from within Easypost, click on shipments.

00:02:54:07 - 00:02:56:25
Make sure you've got
the correct environment selected.

00:02:56:26 - 00:02:59:07
So at the moment,
by using our test environment

00:02:59:21 - 00:03:02:06
and this is where it shows
you all the orders that have come through

00:03:05:23 - 00:03:06:20
our latest

00:03:06:20 - 00:03:09:26
shipment order can be seen
with an Easypost and we can click

00:03:09:26 - 00:03:19:21
the details tab on the right hand side
to access some additional information.

00:03:20:08 - 00:03:23:19
So this includes details on the order,
origin and destination,

00:03:23:27 - 00:03:27:06
as well as tracking information, access
to the shipping label

00:03:27:15 - 00:03:35:09
and a receipt.

00:03:36:28 - 00:03:37:22
Next, we'll take a

00:03:37:22 - 00:03:41:23
look in our shared print operations
area with it Infigo to verify

00:03:41:23 - 00:03:47:01
that the information from Easypost
has been passed back to our Infigo system.

00:03:47:25 - 00:03:48:08
So here's

00:03:48:08 - 00:03:51:12
the latest order
that we've just put through.

00:03:51:12 - 00:03:55:06
If I expand those order details
and go down to the shipping information,

00:03:55:17 - 00:03:59:15
we can see that all that information
has already been populated for us,

00:03:59:23 - 00:04:03:05
which shows
that it's been fed back from Easypost.

00:04:05:27 - 00:04:06:28
Tracking information

00:04:06:28 - 00:04:12:02
can also be directly accessed
from this location,

00:04:12:22 - 00:04:15:28
and we can click the view button
in the shipping information section

00:04:17:03 - 00:04:19:01
to get additional information

00:04:19:01 - 00:04:21:20
on that shipping order.

00:04:21:24 - 00:04:25:25
This shows additional commands
such as allowing you to download and view

00:04:25:25 - 00:04:30:29
different elements of that shipment order,
such as recreating the shipping label.

00:04:31:13 - 00:04:33:02
We can view the postage label,

00:04:34:18 - 00:04:36:12
packaging, slip

00:04:36:14 - 00:04:39:11
information for the job and tracker
URLs.

00:04:40:16 - 00:04:42:27
All this is accessible from within Infigo,

00:04:43:05 - 00:04:48:04
but it's information
provided via Easypost.

1. Enable Buy Shipping Instantly

This setting, under the General section of your Easypost configuration, allows you to determine whether Infigo send a request to Easypost as soon as the order is placed.

When enabled we will send a request to Easypost as soon as the order is placed. This means that you won't have to trigger the shipment manually but you will also not necessarily be able to control on an order by order basis the parcels and sizes that are sent.

Enable Buy Shipping Instantly

2. Click on Parcels Allocation Level:…

When you have Auto Parcel Size Calculation set to true we will send all the calculated parcels in the request. When you have Auto Parcel Size Calculation set to false we will send all your predefined parcel sizes in the request.

When Buy Shipping Instantly setting is true we will request a shipping label for every predefined parcel size you have configured. If you also have your parcel allocation level set to Order Line or Order Line Quantity then your predefined parcels will be requested for each of those too.

Auto Parcel Size calculation settings are covered in another tutorial.
