Video transcript

0:05 Okay.

0:06 Right.

0:06 So let's take a look next at creating a product and customizing the landing page.

0:12 And again I'm not going to go through this in like

0:15 really, really detailed step by step guide because one, all of you will know

0:20 this process already.

0:22 And there are additional resources I want to get through as much as we can

0:26 today.

0:27 So let's start off with product management

0:30 which you can find in the catalog products and product management.

0:36 Now the product management screen allows you to manage

0:38 the entire catalog of products from within your Infigo storefront.

0:43 It allows a range of capability, such as updating and maintaining

0:49 your existing catalog of products, along with the ability

0:52 to create new products and to duplicate existing catalog content, as well.

0:58 So at the time of creating

1:01 or recording this particular webinar that we're doing now,

1:04 we are on the cusp of introducing an updated user interface

1:08 for product management, which hopefully should be out within the next few weeks.

1:12 Whilst the main functionality will remain the same,

1:16 we're completely refactoring the product management page, so this delivers

1:20 a fresh design and several new features to enhance usability.

1:25 And I've got a sort of,

1:27 one of our own test storefronts here, just to show you an example of those changes.

1:32 So some key updates that

1:34 included in here, they include the addition of advanced

1:38 search features with filters for product types.

1:42 For tags, categories and more.

1:45 So this allows you to be very specific in your product searches.

1:51 And the user

1:51 can, when this is released, will be able to perform, bulk actions like publishing

1:57 on publishing, deleting and exporting products in XML or Excel formats.

2:03 So you'll see on the top right here, all of the options we previously had for

2:07 this have been grouped together.

2:08 And you see each of them has the option to export

2:13 all found.

2:14 So everything in your catalog also just export selected.

2:18 So that's just a case of selecting the ones you want

2:22 and then choosing the relevant action.

2:32 Okay.

2:32 And then as we've just shown there, it's

2:34 sort of streams that streamlines the interface by combining

2:37 buttons and improving iconography for better readability,

2:41 as well as adding, pagination details for more

2:45 streamlined navigation experience, let's say, than we have previously.

2:54 All right.

2:57 So I'll go back to my

3:00 standard one here.

3:01 So again, this when this change comes in, they are similar in functionality.

3:06 So I'll focus on on the one we currently have.

3:10 So creating products is nice and easy.

3:13 We can click on Add New on the top right of the screen.

3:16 And then based on what we've got enabled in terms of product type,

3:20 that will give us the ability to select between those options.

3:23 Now the lesser used ones, such as products

3:26 or multi-product

3:30 custom products are available in this custom section here.

3:34 So if you select custom, you'll get the whatever available product types

3:38 you have enabled available in the dropdown.

3:43 Simply select the type of product you want, add a name.

3:51 And create.

3:56 Once that's created, you'll have access to the Product Details page

3:59 for that product, allowing you to specify details such as landing page information.

4:04 Pricing. category details, and so much more.

4:07 Each product type will have many shared configuration settings.

4:12 However, there are some settings that are product

4:16 type specific.

4:23 Okay, so.

4:27 I very quickly

4:29 want to just run through some of the

4:32 commonalities or common inputs and options that you might find

4:37 on pretty much all of the product types.

4:41 So this is things such as pricing, landing

4:44 page content, associated categories and that kind of thing.

4:48 Again, I'm not going to focus on these in too much detail.

4:51 I'm just going to make you aware of their existence.

4:53 And then there's resources.

4:55 Or you can ask us if you want more information.

5:07 Okay.

5:07 So first looking at the product info page, this is primarily allowing you

5:12 to add the details to your product landing page, which is various

5:15 different descriptions in various different locations.

5:19 We have got the ability to populate these using our content

5:22 template functionality, which allows you to make

5:26 much more visually appealing.

5:30 Landing pages without the need for coding skills essentially.

5:34 So it's kind of a building block approach.

5:37 If you go down to the bottom of that info

5:40 page, there's a few separate product settings on there as well.

5:43 And these are

5:46 very user specific.

5:47 Not everyone will need all of these settings.

5:50 It's things such as allowing customer reviews.

5:52 So a B2C storefront might want to allow reviews on certain products.

5:56 You can put product tags on your product, so that will allow you to

6:03 it's

6:04 just another way of grouping products together, really.

6:07 So if you have a product tag, actually let me show you a

6:12 a different product. And.

6:21 So let's go with this one here.

6:22 So it says detailed landing page.

6:25 What I've done with this product which again

6:27 you have access to through those, those resource pages

6:30 I gave you is I've just tried to enable as much as I can.

6:33 So it's a bit of a mishmash of things.

6:35 It's a bit of a mess that just tries to show you

6:37 what kind of things you can enable and add to your product.

6:41 Landing pages.

6:42 So we've got descriptions.

6:44 We've got things like attributes that will be covering later

6:48 available stock levels, pricing information, reviews.

6:53 And then what I was just talking about down here is our tags.

6:57 So this is where we can group different types or different products

7:00 together in a slightly different way.

7:03 We give them the same tag, which it's our choice whether we show that

7:06 or hide that from the user.

7:09 That will allow you to put them together.

7:12 So if you click on the tag, it will then show you all of the associated products

7:16 that are within that tag, or have that tag.

7:23 On. Okay.

7:31 Another very useful setting that you have down here is the admin comment.

7:34 So if you do have multiple people working on a product, for example,

7:38 the admin comment as the name suggests is just admin facing only.

7:42 So put whatever note you like in there just for

7:47 your colleagues purposes or just your own memory.

7:53 We also have the ability to put certain search

7:55 engine optimization settings on a products by product basis.

7:59 There's a whole series of tutorials on that.

8:02 I'll skip the product variant for the second for a second.

8:04 To get back to that, we have category mapping.

8:07 So that gives us the ability to actually assign,

8:12 our products

8:13 to groups of products that we call category.

8:16 So again, of course, that a little bit later on.

8:19 And then the next three tabs are all fairly similar things.

8:22 So we've got related products, cross sells and required products.

8:27 And all you're doing with these is basically associating products

8:31 with the current products.

8:33 And each tab is just changing how these are displayed.

8:37 So related products will be shown on the product page itself.

8:42 Cross sales will be shown within the basket.

8:44 And then required products are where the customer

8:47 is obligated to add a different product to the basket.

8:50 When they add this product.

8:52 So taking a look at our messy sample product,

8:56 we can see that I've got eight related products at the bottom here.

8:58 So it's basically

8:59 just advertising another product from this particular landing page.

9:04 And then.

9:06 Or if I add this product to

9:08 my basket.

9:15 I haven't configured it correctly unfortunately.

9:17 But we would see a cross-sell.

9:20 Either was a,

9:23 a bar on the bottom showing you additional products, or you can have it

9:26 configured as a pop up window as well to actually show you cross-sell products.

9:30 So basically, are you also interested in this item,

9:33 that kind of thing. And.

9:42 Okay.

9:43 We have the pictures tab, which as the name suggests allows you

9:45 to put various images on your product.

9:50 We have specification attributes now

9:54 product attributes will be covering a little bit later on.

9:56 And product attributes are kind of choices you're giving to the to the user.

10:02 So things like material selection for example

10:04 specification attributes.

10:09 More fixed pieces of information.

10:12 So again we've got other resources on this. But

10:14 you've got the ability with specification attributes to sort of put in fixed,

10:20 pieces of

10:21 information that you want to either provide or hide from, from the user.

10:25 So you can have them shown or hidden on the landing page.

10:28 And you can put in predefined lists of information.

10:33 So it might be like material, let's say if it is a set material.

10:36 Or you can have it so that you can manually input, information

10:40 there as well.

10:42 So we've got a basic example on our messy landing

10:44 page of a specification attribute.

10:53 So here for example product specifications.

10:56 And then it's just showing us some.

10:59 Specification information

11:01 that I have assigned to this particular product.

11:08 And, and then an important one to remember

11:12 as well is the display settings tab over on the end.

11:15 So this gives you the ability to

11:18 show and how I a few other bits on your product landing page.

11:22 Things such as breadcrumbs at the top of the page

11:25 which is very very useful

11:28 just showing you sort of category structure and that kind of thing.

11:32 But it also has a lot of settings here to do with re

11:36 ordering and changing around

11:39 how elements are displayed on the page itself.

11:42 So you can specify where all these different elements of the page

11:46 are going to be displayed in relation to other bits of the page.

11:50 And then you've got a simplified diagram at the bottom showing you

11:54 the different areas.

11:58 And then.

12:04 Coming back to the product variant

12:05 now mostly this is going to be used for pricing information.

12:09 However it does have some other capabilities as well.

12:12 So each product will only have one product variant.

12:15 And this I like to think of this

12:18 as containing more of the technical information for the product.

12:21 So things like pricing, weight and dimensional information.

12:27 Attributes information and things like that.

12:31 Other things you can do in here

12:33 are things such as specifying whether this is a downloadable product.

12:36 So whether the customer purchases and then can download the the output,

12:41 you can specify, as I mentioned, weights and dimensional information.

12:45 If you need to utilize that in your shipping calculations,

12:50 you can specify tax information, inventory tracking.

12:54 So if you do have a certain inventory of this particular product,

12:58 you can specify how many you have, how it's tracked.

13:02 If these can only be purchased in bulk of like 100

13:06 or something like that, you can specify that as well.

13:11 For the tabs on here.

13:12 So we've got pricing attributes we'll cover later on discounts.

13:16 So if you do want to apply discounts to a particular product you can do

13:20 so from this tab here.

13:22 Other discounts or are specified and set up in a different part of configure.

13:27 And again we have resources for that if you're interested.

13:30 One thing I will point out, for those that are maybe a bit more unfamiliar,

13:35 if you have got a product type

13:39 which has its own, unique number of settings.

13:43 So let's say a multi-part product will have its own unique settings.

13:47 In some respects, a static PDF will have its own unique settings.

13:51 Those are often accessed from a separate page.

13:55 So let me just show you where those are.

13:58 So if I go to

14:04 the product page of a static PDF, for example,

14:09 if I work on the top right of that page,

14:11 you'll see that I have static PDF config,

14:15 and you'll get a similar icon for the different product types.

14:18 If there are relevant settings for that product type, and they will just

14:21 type, take you to the specific settings for those particular

14:25 products.
