0:00 So, in this part of the infigo core-learning pathway, we're going to be having a look at how to manually create administrators and customer accounts.
0:09 Now, the most important thing to realize here is that both of these elements are the same thing. So, administrators and customer accounts are both created in exactly the same place.
0:18 The only difference between the two accounts is that they have different roles assigned to them to give the additional privileges.
0:26 Now the first thing I'm going to do is to make sure I'm logged in as my platform administrator. because what we're going to start by doing is creating a platform administrator account.
0:39 In case we want any additional platform administrators. Then we're going to go and create a storefront administrator. Then we're going to create a regular end user.
0:49 So let's start off with the platform administrator. In order to do this, I'm going to navigate to my platform level.
0:55 Boop. And then over on my left hand side, I'm going to navigate to customer management. This will show me all of the accounts that have been created on the platform level rather than on individual storefronts.
1:15 And if you want to create a new platform administrator, this is the location it should be done. This interface is the same on both platform and storefront levels, however.
1:26 so if I go up to the top right of my screen, I'm and click Add New. That will allow me to create a new user account.
1:33 Now we're faced with a lot of different fields. That's with information that can be input. However, the only mandatory ones which we need to input are the identifying email address and an associated password.
1:46 So I can create a new platform administrator account. I can input or generate a password. And then I can go across to my customer roles.
1:55 And if I'm creating a platform administrator on the platform level, I I want to give it both. Store front administrator and platform administrator privileges.
2:07 Then click save and continue edit. You'll notice as well that we have this password expired checkbox. If this is checked, it means that the next time that user account logs in, they will be prompted to change the password.
2:25 If that's not required, it can be unchecked. And we can save. Next, we want to create a storefront administrator on our newly created storefront that we did in the previous tutorial.
2:39 So first and foremost, we need to make sure that we are operating in the correct area of our platform. So if I go to switch storefronts.
2:50 Locate the storefront that we just created. And then make sure that that is the one that's being utilized. We can confirm this with the current account reading at the top of the screen.
3:02 I'm going to go to the same area and repeat the same process for creating an account. So I'm going to input an email address, a password, however this time I'm only going to give this user storefront administrator privileges.
3:24 With regards to the rest of these customer roles, the most critical ones to note is that If you want an account to be active and utilized on the storefront, then it has to contain this registered customer role, which is selected by default.
3:38 So any user account that's created should have registered at a minimum. All of these other ones have specific use cases.
3:46 cases, most of which are described on the Infigo Academy. So in this instance, I've got registered and storefront administrators. I'm going to click save and continue edit and that user account has now been created.
4:04 At this point, we now have an account created on that particular storefront. So there's no need at this point to actually stay logged in as our platform administrator.
4:14 This is because any further change we're going to make is going to be on just that one particular storefront. So we want to log into that particular storefront to minimize the risk of unintended changes to other areas.
4:25 And I'm going use of the platform. So I'm going to log out and make sure that we are connecting to the correct URL.
4:37 So when we set up our storefront in the previous tutorial, we put an . . . an alias URL on the end of our main platform URL.
4:46 And this, we need to make sure this is the storefront that we're logging into. Input our storefront login credentials and click login.
5:00 As you're logging in as the storefront administrator, you will be taken straight to the front end of the store. . you can get back to the admin area of your in-figure storefront by clicking on the button on the top right.
5:12 Or . . or putting forward slash admin into the URL. You'll see that the layout of the admin looks virtually identical. However, the key indicator that we're now working on platform level is that the switch storefront button has now been removed.
5:28 From here, any change we make will be on this particular storefront. So, for example, I'm going to go ahead and create an end user within my customer account.
5:39 And they don't need any additional customer roles. And that's it for the basics of creating accounts. In the next tutorial, we're going to have a look at creating products and utilizing the product catalog.
