Managing the basic of shipping and payment | CORE_008

This tutorial covers the minimum setup needed to get checkout working by enabling at least one payment method and one shipping/delivery method in Infigo. You’ll learn where to find Payment Methods, how to check the Is Active status so customers can actually use an option, and the basic idea of configuring third-party providers like Stripe by entering credentials (while focusing here on activating Purchase Order). For shipping, it explains that the menu label may vary by region (Shipping vs Delivery) and walks through Delivery/Shipping Computation to activate a method such as Fixed-Rate Shipping, then configure named shipping methods (e.g., Standard/Express) with specific prices. It also shows where to create or rename shipping methods, then return to fixed-rate configuration to assign rates and activate multiple options for customer choice.

0:00 In this tutorial, as part of the Infigo Core Learning Pathway, we're going to be taking a look at managing the basics of shipping and payment.
0:08 What this essentially means in our case is we're going to make sure that we have at least one simple method of each active and configured so that we're able to actually proceed through our checkout.
0:20 So let's start off with our payment options. From Infigo admin, I'm just going to type in payment and go to our payment methods screen.
0:31 On here you will find loads of different options and capabilities, different third-party providers that we can connect with, for example, and various different Infigo internal methodologies.
0:44 If you need to connect with a third-party provider, it tends to be fairly simple. So if I go to Stripe, for example, and go to configure, primarily what we're looking for in here is just to link our credentials from the third-party account into Infigo.
1:00 However, in this simple tutorial, What we're primarily going to focus on is activating our purchase order capabilities. Now, as we look down the list, we can see there's a lot of different columns of information.
1:15 One of the most important for these early stages is the is active column. This confirms whether or not that particular payment method is going to be available for our customers.
1:26 On our default storefront that we've newly created, we can see that the only one that is currently active is our purchase order.
1:34 if we need to change any of these for any reason, we just go to edit and then we can disable that particular option.
1:41 In terms of shipping, it's a little bit different. And based on your region, you might have to type different things into your Infigo admin here.
1:49 So, for some people, you might find this is under shipping. And for others, you might find this is under delivery.
1:55 And this is largely based on your region. So, shipping or delivery. First of all, we're going to go to delivery or shipping computation.
2:08 Now this is the equivalent of the screen that we've just been looking at for payment. So this provides us with loads of different shipping or delivery methodologies that we can utilize.
2:18 Now, again, some of these are linking with third-party systems. Things such as EasyPost, United States Postal Service, FedEx, and so on.
2:30 And others are integrated methodologies which are available within Infigo. So, for example, the fixed-rate shipping and shipping by weight. In this example, we're going to stick with one of the most basic, which is the fixed-rate shipping, just so we can get something to allow us to proceed through the
2:50 checkout. As we saw with the payment options, we need to make sure that the relevant option or options are active on our particular store.
2:58 If we need to modify any of these, we can click on Edit and change the active status. Now, as I mentioned, we're going to focus on fixed-rate shipping.
3:10 So, if I go to Configure, what we're then faced with is a series of methods and a series of rates.
3:17 And basically what we're doing is part of the thing. Fixed-rate shipping is explicitly specifying what those shipping rates are going to be.
3:25 So, this is a great example if you've got different speeds of shipping, so Express, Standard, Premium, whatever it may be, and then you need to change the price accordingly.
3:33 Now, we do have a couple of shipping methods in there by default. You might find your setup is slightly different.
3:39 However, we can create custom shipping methods as well where we can add other rows to this table In order to get to this, I'm going to again type delivery order or shipping into our menu, and I'm going to go for the methods page In here, we can modify existing methodologies if need to do so, or we can
3:59 add new ones. All we're doing on this page is actually naming the delivery method. We're basically just creating that as an option.
4:07 We define what we want to do with it at a later stage. If I now go back to my computations we screen, go back to configuring fixed rate shipping, that new shipping method is now available and I have the ability to specify what that rate is going to be and activate it if I want to do so.
4:32 also going to activate a second method as well, so we give the customer a choice. And that's it. What that basically means from this tutorial is that we now have the specification enabled which allows us to proceed through the checkout with pre-configured options for payment and shipping.
4:48 We'll see that in action in a later tutorial when we go through the entire customer's workflow on our storefront. In the meantime, our next tutorial in this series is going to be related to configuring automated communication with your customers,
