How to configure automated communication with your customers | CORE_009

This tutorial explains how to configure automated customer communications in Infigo, focusing on email setup and templates. You’ll learn where to configure Email Accounts and when to do it at platform level (shared across storefronts) versus storefront level (set up per storefront), plus how to validate settings by sending a test email—noting that the default infigomail.net address is intended as a temporary starter mailbox. It then walks through Email Message Templates, showing how to enable/disable templates via the Is Active setting and how to edit template content using either CodeMirror (HTML) or the Content Template Editor, inserting dynamic data with message tokens (storefront, customer, order details, etc.). Finally, it introduces the Message Queue as a key troubleshooting tool to review sent email content, check statuses, and requeue messages after making fixes.

0:00 This tutorial of the Infigo core learning pathway is going to cover how to configure automated communication with your customers. Now this is done primarily through email and what we need to do as part of this is to make sure that you know how to set up your email accounts on your different storefronts
0:19 or your platform and then how you can actually enable and edit different email templates to go out to those customers.
0:28 So if I start off on my platform, first of all, and go to email accounts. Now this is one of those rare occasions where you may want to set something up on the platform level in your email account of the storefront, but it is completely up to you.
0:41 If you want an email account available across all of your storefronts, then log out, log in as your platform administrator and set it up on the platform level.
0:52 Alternatively, if you're happy to set it up on a storefront by storefront basis, stay where you are and go to email accounts.
1:01 Now configuring one of these email accounts within Infigo is fairly simple. The legwork comes in in setting up the separate email inbox on your third-party system.
1:14 Now, when your new Infigo platform is delivered to you, it will come with an email. An initial infigomail.net email address.
1:22 This is not intended to be permanent. This is a temporary measure whilst you get up and running. We fully expect that before your first storefront goes live, you will change to your own mailbox.
1:36 So if I go and edit one of those, for example, you can see the kind of information that you need to input.
1:42 It is just general information, which you need to link your mailbox to your Infigo system. Once you've input all that information, you can send a test email down at the bottom, which will just ping a very simple email to that recipient.
1:55 And you can see if it's actually able to submit those emails for you. The next thing we actually need to look at is the email message templates.
2:05 So we can search that in our menu on the left, go to email message templates. And what we have here is loads of message templates which cover pretty much every scenario in which you or the customer would need to be informed about certain things.
2:18 Certain actions happening on your storefronts. And the methodology for activating and modifying the content of these is exactly the same for each of them.
2:29 So first of all, activating them. You can see there is an is active column towards the right-hand side. By default only a few of the most critical emails are enabled but you have got the ability to enable or disable them.
2:40 You can any of them that you want to do by clicking edit and then clicking the is active button and then saving.
2:48 Modifying any of these messages is very easy as well. So, if I go down to this one as just an example, the default ones that we give you will generally be written in CodeMirror Editor.
3:01 Now, you don't have to fill this in just using HTML code. You again have the ability to use the Content Template Editor, which will give you specific fields relating to your email.
3:12 Regardless of the one you use, you can pull in data from elsewhere in Infigo using these message tokens over on the right-hand side.
3:21 Now these tokens can be related to the storefront, email addresses, the customer, the order. They are all contextual, but you can just copy these and paste them into your templates and then where relevant, it will bring in the relevant information related to that particular email that you're going to
3:38 send. you can see there's several different tokens already input, all to do with the order details. The final part we need to look at in terms of emails is the message queue.
3:58 Now, this is just a fantastic way to see the status and the content of the emails that have left your system.
4:04 And it's great for troubleshooting if you are having problems with your email templates. So, for example, if I go into this sent template here, it will give me information on when that particular email was sent, what the content of that email was, and if necessary, I can requeue it for sending again
4:20 after I've made some changes. And that's it. At this early stage, that's all you really need to know on configuring automated communications.
4:30 In the next tutorial, we'll have a look at testing your customer's workflow on your storefront. So, everything we've worked up to until this point, you'll be able to see that in action.
